How crap is the BDO darts compared to on sky!

watching a little bit of this the last week or so, sod all else on lol. I can't help but notice how crap the standard is compared to the PDC on sky, the general scoring and finishing is almost pub league standard.

Add to that the beebs ultra dull coverage aswell

yeah, he aint all that though, watched him a year or 2 back. I reckon any of the top 20 PDC could enter this and clean up tbh

I watched for about a minute and then had to turn over. They must turn the mikes up to try and make it more exciting though, as when the darts hit the board they sound like they have been fired by a high powered long bow.

Always make me laugh when people say about them being crap. I would love to see people on here play and see what sort of averages they would get. Saying they are is like saying people on the EuroPro tour are crap golfers, or people playing in the Championship are crap footballers. These blokes are far from crap dart players...............

Not sure I agree with top 32

Bunting has averaged over 100 in matches in this and is above 95 in the final, only the top 8 or 10 in the PDC can live with that form over the longer game, if you look at the averages the 2 finalists have had through this comp they actually stack up ok to all bar the very very top in the PDC this yr (Wade for example won matches with averages in the mid 80s this yr)

My uncle played for England B in the days of Bristow and Lowe and when 100 average was special. He was very good but could never make the next step. He still lays superleague into his 60's and so sees a lot of these guys playing and he isn't overly impressed by the current crop of players either

theyre in the mid 90s in this game, were higher in prev rounds, the Norris match vs Wilson they both averaged 102+, pretty sure no one lost with 102 av in the pdc this yr

My uncle played for England B in the days of Bristow and Lowe and when 100 average was special. He was very good but could never make the next step. He still lays superleague into his 60's and so sees a lot of these guys playing and he isn't overly impressed by the current crop of players either

Never played to that level Homer. BUt I did play SuperLeague, didn't play county as I did not want the expense of it all. I spent 2 years practising and going round the BDO tournaments trying to see if I could make a proper living at the game. I played at the UK Open, English Open, Scottish Open, Granite City challenge along with a host of COunty open events. Did not do too bad, but got an appretiation of how good these boys are.

The standard at the start can be quite poor, but then some of the prelim games in the PDC were hardly much better. The 2 guys in the final could easily cut it in the PDC, just look at their averages throughout the whole tournament and the final.

It might not sound like a great atmosphere compared to the PDC but that's because the crowd are actually watching the darts and cheer for the big scores and good finishes. Instead of getting hammered and shouting abuse between the tables and those in the stands.

The BBC's coverage was poor though.
