Cant turn off the heating at night as we got a kid at home and he keeps wriggling out of his duvet. Not keen on the social services paying us a visit.

I might turn down the TRVs on some of the rads. Also the little ceramic thing that hangs on the rad may be a good idea...

There is a good chance he is wriggling out because he is too warm if you are keeping the heat on 24/7.

We bought one of these after seeing my SIL's one in action [she has 3 Labrador dogs!!]
Quite brilliant, the air seems much fresher and when you clean out the water bowl you are amazed how much muck is floating about in the air.
No need for air fresheners either [we just have the one smelly Labrador!]
Just got mine up and running , we only have one small dog I blame her for all the funny smells:whistle:, BTW you should be on commission Doon.

Probably wriggling out of his duvet because he is too warm, as humans we have the uncanny ability to try to regulate our own temp by clothing, sweating etc..

Put the TRV's in the house so it is no higher than 20 in each room and 18 in the bedrooms. If you imagine the duvets as a really thick coat it would be good to go outside in if it were waterproof so why have the heating as a summers day then expect the kid to sleep in his duvet........

You just wonder how the human race managed to exist before central heating and double glazing. I vividly remember as a kid in the 60s scraping the ice off the inside of the bedroom windows when we woke up in the mornings. The only heating we had in the house was a coal fire in the living room. I also remember there wasn't any heating in the school either, we had a coal fire in the classroom which the jannie would light if it was really cold so we could melt the frozen bottles of milk!
Ah, the good old days.
