Generally, i'm playing much much better now than I ever have done. I'm going to shoot sub 80 soon but guaranteed every round i have 2 or 3 card wrecking holes that tip me into the mid 80's!!

I've been having bother with bunker shots lately but I used to be ok with them, and I also cant hit my utility wood anymore since i've changed my swing plane to accomodate my driver better and to be able to hit that better.

One day soon its all going to come together, its just nice to be dissapointed when I shoot mid eighties now.....3 months ago i'd have been over the moon!

My driving has improved dramatically since I purchased my G10 driver. So much confidence, I can stand on the tee knowing that if I put a decent swing on it I'm going to be far enough out there to be able to take advantage.
Finally getting my irons sorted out, hitting some lovely shots with decent length (at last) and my badly fatted shots seem to be a thing of the past (at the moment).
Where I am losing shots is with my short putts. Missing far too many and am beginning to let it get to me subsequently my confidence on the greens is beginning to desert me. I'm ok on longish putts but it's the 2 & 3 footers that are causing me grief. I'm tending to pull them and missing left. Must work on a more consistent takeaway as I'm not bringing the putter straight back, I'm jabbing at things.
Other than that, I'm pleased with my game and playing fairly consistently.

Pulls up a chair.
Can I help Rob? and before you say it, it not a Veasy thing.
When people often miss putts left, its because they are turning their shoulders at impact. Try a short putting stroke, hold the position at the end of the stroke and place your putter shaft accross your shoulder line. Is it pointing left by any chance? :)

You could be right Bob. I won't get a chance to check it out until Thursday at the earliest, but it sounds possible. Another reason I may be doing it is my current putter is not really ideal for my set up. When I address the ball comfortably, I find that the toe of the club is quite a way off the putting surface. The only way I can get the club to sit flat on the deck is to stand really close to the ball which doesn't feel right for me. The club is too upright. It could be that the heel of the putter is just dragging on the grass as I putt and this is turning the head of the putter over?
I have a new putter that sits a lot flatter. I'm going to give that a try over the course of the next week or so, because I didn't get this problem with my old putter.
Thanks for your input mate

No problem.
One more thing, the next time you get a chance, address the ball as normal with your putter and look at your reflection in a mirror or patio window from behind you down the line.
The shaft of the putter and forearm should form a straight line :)

Whilst not setting the course alight at the moment, I have developed a level of consistency that I have not had before. I am shooting low nineties most weeks so that break into the eighties cannot be far away. Certainly not blowing up on as many holes as I used to but worryingly my hook has appeared again on a few holes recently. Need a lesson to make sure that stays away as it used to be a bit distructive

After playing four qualifying rounds at my club I am forth in the eclectic gross scores and second in the nett.

Although i have not won any comps i have played to my handicap twice and hit the buffer zone twice got at reduction to 9.9 under rule 19 I also managed to win my first round of the singles k.o against a Guy off 5 who had won the comp a previous week

This is after having some lessons with with our pro and having time to practice.

So this shows i am at least consistant at the moment.

Oh, I forgot the topic....

yes, how am I playing?

RG thinks for a while././././

Very well thanks, but it's a sham.....I knock a silly ball round in under 80 shots, and seemingly not a straight ball in sight.

My current bag of goodies is a straight pull, a "professional" fade and dodgy Lorena Bobbit.
If I think, just hit the thing starting right you muppet....where does it go.....right, but also STRAIGHT!

I'm 3-balled out, I'm "in the slot" depressed and unable to cure the pull for love nor money.

Still, looking on the bright side, I have some nice vouchers for the pro shop to enjoy.....how I keep winning the nett/points for div 1 comp's is beyond me.....

:) :) :)
