Hi all,

Dropped the Mrs at her granny's for a few hrs and thought me and the little one should go and look round AG to kill some time.

AG in Watford did not look as skanky as it did at Christmas time and the VERY beautiful Callaway Big Bertha was in stock to swish... I was impressed with the look of this thing.

However the thing that really took me was the Ping Scottsdale TR Craz-E:

I have never gamed/played a space station, I used a half mallet for a while as part of the "Fundy putters for all" program. I am always intrigued by them but never enough to buy one.

I picked this thing up and I was literally shocked by how hot the face on this club was. Usually I would use the word hot to describe the feeling of s really trampoline like face of a wood but this thing just goes off in your hand like a gun. Along with that it also seemed to get the ball rolling really fast.

If the feeling did not scare me a little and leave me feeling a little out of control even when canning putts I would have purchased it on the spot. It is a very false feeling, but that really is not going to matter if it works.

Has anyone used/got one of these in the bag. I am interested in any feed back.

Thanks

Alex

I take it the collar under the grip allows the length to be changed? And is this thing counterbalanced in some way? Have you had a play with it?

Whenever I have been to AG the balls they provide in the putting area are like rocks and the mat runs at about 20 on the stimp.....could this explain the speed off the face?

Ye I believe the Grayhawk is like 500grams! a LOT heavier than this Craz-E... and I thought the Craz-E was heavy.

Greyhawk is 355g, Craz-E is 365g headweight.
Obviously having 3 tons of Fatso grip adds to the overall weight a touch....

I've used versions of the Craz-E in the past but these days I can't get my head past the "Man on a motorbike" look.....

Yep, I get you and they did give me a rock but it was not the ball, I tried lots of putters.... Did make me laugh when the AG guy came running over to me like I was about to walk out with the crown jewels when all I wanted to do was give him his rock back...

Ahh ok, no matter... the stuck grip is pretty fat and heavy as is the shaft slider jobby.... the whole putter feels bulky. But I am still intrigued.

Been to AG this evening and tried the Craz-E putter and it was awful, very hard of the face, no give of decent feed back that would provide me with any confidence.

I did then try the odyssey Number 9 half mallet and that was very very nice, it felt like the putter gently caressed the ball before guiding toward the hole.

There's a jobby on the shaft...? I'll pass, thanks.
