Gave up the ghost the afternoon and hose won't retract.
~ 7 years old so it's had a good run.
Will replace with the same unless there's something else out there worth considering.

Any thoughts?

Hozelock expanding hoses are great. Very compact when not in use.

Dad had one. MiL had one. Both ended up with the hose just lying loose on the ground when the retractor packed up.
My manual wind one has been functioning perfectly well for 20 years and doesn't take much effort.
I wouldn't bother with an autoreel, personally.

Ours gave up the ghost several years ago .. retracts no problem but even when you don’t want it to so it’s the exercise machine from hell!!

Got one set it up, tested it, hose wouldn't go on the reel, going back for refund tomorrow

Hate my hose on a reel. Shrinking hose is the way to go.
