We have a heard of deer on the course and sometimes get hoof Prints on the green. If they are on the line of your putt can you get relief or repair

Does your club not have a local rule to cover this? Down here in my part of the world, there are a few clubs in the New Forest that have a lot of animals on them, there must be something in place to cover this.

Ridiculously not. Local rule only covers hoof Prints in bunkers

Unless you have a local rule to the contrary, no you can't. This came up at our club a few years ago, when some horses escaped onto our course and ran round on some of the greens, leaving lots of hoof prints. Apparently hoofed creatures, such as cattle, deer and horses, are not 'burrowing animals', so no relief under the general rules of golf. You can however ask the Committee to mark the affected areas as GUR.

You get free relief to nearest point no nearer the hole under abnormal ground conditions

Definition of an abnormal ground condition from the R&A rules

An "abnormal ground condition" is any casual water, ground under repair or hole, cast or runway on the course made by a burrowing animal, a reptile or a bird.

I don't think deer come into any of these categories! :)
