Homer Style Round review part 4

Back in the 80's when I first started playing, they had a 9 hole open to Joe public. I used to play there often on Saturday mornings. As a beginner, the heather was an absolute nightmare, could never find your ball if it didn't clear, which it frequently didn't......Loved the course though. Haven't played the 18 hole yet......

It was a pleasure to play with you too. You ball striking was terrific and you could have been taking the trophy if your putter had behaved on the front 9. Well played anyway and nice pictures!

Mine was a "what might have been" round. I should have been under par really but never mind, I had a really superb day in glorious weather on one of my favourite courses.

It was just about perfect for golf and my 2 iron to the 7th will linger longer in the memory than the fact that I missed out on the lowest gross!

Hope to play with you again soon at another Aircraft Golfing Society fixture. My next one will be Hankley Common on the 25th May. This season, I will also definitely (as I've received invites from mates) be at The Grove, The Berkshire, Sunningdale, Woburn, Toulouse Latitudes and St Georges Hill again. Lucky me!

My next one will be Hankley Common on the 25th May. This season, I will also definitely (as I've received invites from mates) be at The Grove, The Berkshire, Sunningdale, Woburn, Toulouse Latitudes and St Georges Hill again.

I'd loved to have played at Hankley Common, but it's the day after the Beau Desert meet and there's a few of us staying on to play another course.

I'll probably make The Grove as it's on the doorstep and definitely St Georges again.

And in relation to the comments about SGH, my favourite hole is the 13th. A superb par 4 in every sense.

I agree too that the second is another good one. 1st and 10th are nice holes too. And the 12th come to think of it.

Worst holes on the course are 9 and 18. Difficult to knowingly hit a good approach into either of these in my view.

All in all a lovely day out with a special atmosphere about the place.
