Well basically, im not a member at my home course because
although it is very cheap, i hate the place.

It has 3 courses 2x 18 and one 9 hole, the nine hole is £2 and you can play it as many times as you want! i use it to practice my short game as its 50p more than a basket of balls! however every tee is just hard mud and stones so you find yourself teeing up somewhere random! and the greens are terrible!

i havent played the bottom 18 in a while so couldnt comment but the main 18 is okay the tees a nice but the fairways are tatty and every green has its problem. the first has divots everywhere you have to two put. its impossible not to! and every other green is just bad just weeds everywhere!

so i believe i cant get a true score from the course because
of its condition. but its 5 mins away from my door and costs
nothing! would you complain?

sorry about the essay but its something ive wanted to get
off my chest ever since i got onto this forum!

oh and the women behind the counter are the mardiest foulest
pair of dragons you will ever meet. i like the pro though
had a few lessons with him :)
cheers for listening haha

Which golf club is it, out of interest?

Try Sudbrook Moor at Carlton Scroop which is only a short drive from Newark.

It's only a 9 hole course, but each hole has two flags so you can play it as 18. It's cheap as chips, relaxed as you like and the course is always in fairly decent nick.

They've also got really good practice facilities and the folk there are friendly as anything.

Any of the courses in Grantham are decent. Sudbrooke is a great, friendly little 9 holer then you have Belton Park (lovely 27 hole course) and Stoke Rochford where I play or if you do not mind the more commercial experience there is Belton Woods with 2 full 18 hole courses. All of these are an easy trip from Newark down the A1.

This as well. Belton Park is my old home club, it's awesome. I played it a few weeks ago and it's in pristine condition.

My home course is a short 9 hole which I mainly use for practise and can you believe it we are still playing off winter tee's on 3 of the holes.
