Holidays 2025

We’ve done Estepona for a week so far, got a long weekend in the lakes in a couple of weeks, and then Cavtat in Croatia for a fortnight later in the summer.
Cavtat is wonderful, we've been there twice. Best sunsets I've ever seen. The best buy you will make when you are there, beach/gel shoes. The beaches are all pebbled but those make getting to the water effortless.

I was lucky enough to see this sunset in Naples, Florida, a couple of years ago. No Photoshop filters required. If Cavtat matches it I’ll be happy!

Me and wifey try to do a weekend every 6-8 weeks. Look for cheap flight and that's where we go. Belfast next. One after could be anywhere.

Only ever do a week on 'proper' holiday, Tenerife done and another later in the year, not yet booked.

I do a bike trip with the lads and she does a week with her sisters and we always get a week away with the grandkids.

No real planning to anything we do holiday wise. Often just read/overhear something and investigate options.
The Titanic museum in Belfast is possibly the best 'theme' museum I've ever been to, highly recommended (y)

Done France in May for 2 weeks. Just booked Budapest for 9 nights in September. Come back for a day and then race off to a familly get together for a 70th BD in Yorkshire. We were discussing Poland for pre xmas market thing in December.

Thanks. A work contact is spending one evening with us and as a treat, he's booked a driver to grab us from the airport, get us to the hotel and take us to the museum and then to a few select afternoon pubs to warm up for the dinner with him and his wife.

Budapest is lovely but not sure you can fill 9 days there, are you looking at taking any trips out of the city? We looked at the train to Vienna when we went but didn't have time.

Me and Missis T have done Edinburgh,
Manchester, Cardiff, Berlin and Amsterdam for new year. Everyone was either cold, wet, snow, rain, ice or all five. I said “ sod that am going somewhere warm next year” we did fuertaventura. It was mint. Morocco on 2rd Jan for a week this year and Tunisia for new year this year for £360 a week PP all inc.

We’ve done a few beach holidays for Xmas and new year but HID misses Xmas with nieces & nephews. I actually quite enjoy city breaks at the moment so it’s a great balance as we normally fly the day after Boxing Day. Last year we flew on the 28th to the 2nd which mean I had a good turkey trott game at the club on the 27th. Win win

I loved Budapest. The arcade museum with the old vintage video games is great but the best was the outdoor thermal pools.

Was in Majorca there for a week, small quiet little place called sant jordi maybe around 40 minutes or so from Palma airport, it was great and hotel was immaculate, just recently done up (universal romantica hotel)…. But my god it was warm, warmest I’ve probably ever felt Majorca, pushing 40 most days, even 9/10pm at night still 30 degrees.

So at the moment Mr and Missis T are in Cape Verde. Boa Vista to be a bit more precise. Right at the bottom of the island in the biggest RIU hotel in the world.
Being honest. It’s not in me top 20 best holidays ever.
Maybe being plus 60 yr old watching folk get smashed whilst in a hotel that is 15-20 miles away from anything is just not me anymore.
Anyway today we have had a Suzuki Jimny and done 170 km And just loved
It. The people of Cape Verde are so friendly.
Anyway we got lost. The people are So friendly. Pulled up at a village ( first one ever on Boa Vista that the Portuguese built) and a guy insisted we park there so we can see his mums shop.
( she still lives in Senegal) I jumped out and found a pair of apple ear pods on the floor In the box thing and they were charged. 😳
Oh ah. Am now knackered.

Sounds like Rui Toreg with the crazy wave beech. We stayed there last year and it was the first holiday I’ve had when 5 days into the two week I could have left happily. We did a quad tour that was off site near the airport, almost 5 hours on the quads seeing some lovely beaches.

It deffo is the touraeg

Any suggestions for a new years city break. Planning on flying 27th-2nd or 28th-3rd. Ideally few nice bars, some stuff to do during the days with enough to do on NYE.

Did Rome last year which we loved, was looking at Barcelona however not hearing good things about there at present due to cultural frictions.

Currently Athens seems a good contender, potentially northern Italy also.
