Ay up chaps.

I normally get a few good nuggets (no not that type) from the foum for UK hols.

Down there for just over a week, and wanting some pointers, in particular:-

Good 3-7 mile walks with the pooch. Beach and/or good inland views as dont mind a hilly walk either.

Days out - we're going to walk him in the mornings and for 2 days are going to go into Portsmouth for the museums (my God, there's loads of em). I think there are about 8 that we fancy, so any tips on what not to miss, although definitely going to see the "Victory". May go out for a few other days, depending on how we get on.

Good restaurant in or near Findon/Worthing for our anniversary. Again good views or nice ambience.

May be getting 1-2 games in whilst down there as well.

There's good walking to had around and near the Birling Gap and we always enjoy a day out in Hastings particularly the old town...

Though both might be a little further away than I realise from Worthing...

Lewes is also worthy of a visit...
They have their own currency there mind...

Stayed at Findon two years ago, I thought it was a lovely place. Three very good pubs that were dog friendly, a very good indian restaurant a bistro and a brasserie. There is a super cafe that did a good English breakfast and they would make it up to takeaway if you want. The south downs are just behind you and the iron age hill fort of Cissbury ring, great walk.

Hasting doesn’t have any beaches you can take the dog on, there’s a decent section of beach at Bexhill on Sea you can and I personally prefer Bexhill to Hastings anyway.

Looked at staying in Worthing a few times over the last couple of years, but then found other places which swung us elsewhere (Bacton & Dunster) Still on the radar though so reading this with interest.

Those that know of the Cooden meet with Smithy, will know I know all the pubs in Hastings and especially Bexhill 🍻

Littlehampton - Hayling Island - Isle of Purbeck (tea with Jamie's Dad] great views & lots of walking

Brockenhurst Manor -

You are the right age for Worthing Peter.

Perhaps Pompey are playing at home ? :D

Portsmouth is less than half an hour from my club if you fancy a game.

The best bit about Bexhill was the greasy spoon on the promenade...
Nothing better than a full English to start a day out at the seaside...

Cheers chaps, keep em coming, I'll reply to the pm's tomorrow.

I couldn't do a review at rye due to course maintenance, waiting for one answer from Hankley, and may play with d4s......however, if we can get a nice little fourball or more together, would rather the good company than a top course and willing to travel an hour or so.

can also make it a twilight, one evening if it helps. Down there from next Friday for a week.

I live on the outskirts of Portsmouth. Yes, the Victory is the obvious one to do but they have the Mary Rose exhibition as well which has recently been completely revamped. Also you are only a few hundred yards from the Spinnaker Tower and Gunwharf Quays (plenty of shops and restaurants).

Mate,

If parking in Portsmouth, I would suggest parking at Gunwharf as bit of a issue in Portsmouth in regards to theft from motor vehicles ,especially during Summer period mate.

That's some area from East Sussex national to Hayling Island, and you can't have played West Sussex as you failed to include it

Some great PM's (back late tonight so will reply tomorrow), offers and advice chaps, and Ive got to ring D4S back, as well. I do want to meet up with Gordon, if he's available as done me a big favour the other year.

I played West Sussex with BIM the other month. Loved it and sods law only 10 mins away from where we're staying now, but fancy somewhere new. Id rather play somewhere with 4-8 of us, rather than a top 100 for only 2-3 of us, so open to suggestions.

I should be able to get 2 knocks in down there, but probably late afternoons or evening - BTW what time is it light to down there at the mo. Its about 9.30 up here, I think, but possibly earlier down there.

If a few fancy a knock on say Wednesday 8th or Thursday 9th could be a laugh. Thoughts?

its a bit of a hike from Worthing, 1 1/2 hrs maybe, but we could do a 4 ball @ Brokenhurst on the Thursday
