Hole in one!

I had played poorly all the way round and said to my playing partners on the 14th tee after hooking my first driver OB that if I didn't hit a good second tee shot I was going in. Fortunately I hit the fairway and managed a bogey so on to the 15th.

It's a very short par 3 only 120 yards but the green is very severely sloped. Up I step with gap wedge in hand, the ball hit the very back of the green and starts to spin back down the hill to which one of my partners says get the whisky ready. A few moments later the ball is in the hole for my 5th hole in one!

I quite often play an early morning round on my own - I just KNOW that should I ever be lucky enough hit one then it will be on one of these unverifiable days!

Playing with my regular fourball partners the other week and the subject of holes in one came up. One had had 4, another 7 and the other couldn't remember whether he'd had 14 or 15.

The greedy sods. I haven't even got one yet.
