Hive heating system

Do people really leave the heating on at night? I thought the duvet did away with a need for that.

We never have ours on at night and our bedroom window is always open. Infact have the heating on as little as possible and never have the house really hot as it just makes us feel ill. Our monthly DD for gas has just been reduced to £25.

5 minutes will do zip in terms of warming your house.

This man speaks sense- needs 6 mins:whistle:

I like this idea especially as ours can have heating and water on a timer but you cant have water going off separately so in a cold winter the heating is on but so is a zillion gallons of boiling water I dont need.

I think it will suit people or families with a varied routine that a standard set controller does not do.

My wife and I have pretty standard hours so we would not see any benefit. Ours comes on in the morning before we get up and goes off after we go to work, then comes on before we get home and goes off when we are heading up to bed.

If we could be in and out at any hour then a system like this could pay for itself over a year or two, why heat your home if no-one will be there to enjoy it? Currently we can pretty much say someone will be!

I've had the Hive system for a while, mainly because I wanted to change the location of my thermostat so thought I might as well have it whilst I was doing it. I work away and sometimes irregular hours, getting home at all times of day/night so this is great, I can leave it on a low constant heat while I'm away then whack it up to scorchio an hour before I get home. Also if you forget to turn it off, no problem.
