Hitting the gym for better golf?

just wondering if anyone hits the gym seriously with an aim to improving their golf game i.e. more control, hit it further? If so what body parts/exercises are best? Ive been gyming it now for just over a year and have increased strength alot but dont want it to damage my swing. Any advice for an approach to this? what muscles are most important? I already know im no where near as flexable as i used to be.
 
I use the gym but mainly because I always have, not really golf related. Planning on changing that next year and making it more relevant, rather than the same workout I was doing 10 years ago for boxing !
