Hillsbrough - Sick to the back teeth

God forbid that a new inquiry announced near the anniversary might lead to a increase in coverage about it, especially on regional news. To be honest I can't remember seeing that much of it in times gone by except near the anniversary or when there was a development. Even when my freesat had been set to a Liverpool postcode to get ITV HD when UTV hadn't started HD broadcast.

Suppose that attitude would be shared toward the Omagh bombing. Hey it happened 16 years ago but it's keeps coming up in the news.

:sbox:

With the correct policing many of those 96 would've still been alive today and going the match tomorrow.

With a competent FA the Semi final would never have been played there

They knew the stadium was bad - especially Leppings Lane and they had the warning signs before hand and ignored them

Exactly, but no good old Thatcher and her cronies made sure where the blame was to be laid and they laid it at the wrong people.

Top brass copper's retiring to make sure they don't lose their pension's or face disciplinary.

100's of coppers statements changed, west midlands police investigating SYP, the list goes on and on.

Everybody's entitled to opinions but there's a time and a place and to be honest now is certainly not the time imo.

I know this post may upset some people, but I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of of all this Hillsbrough crap.
Matches kicking off today at 3.07. Then 96 seats left vacant at wembley, for heavens sake just let it lie.
Whilst I sympathise with those who lost relatives in this tragic event I am just so so sick of keep hearing Hillsbrough, Hillsbrough.
There wasn't this much or any fuss made over the Bradford fire disaster.

Are you for real , get a life , 96 people would swap you , grow up

I'm even suspect about what Thatchers herself said - she was known not to like Liverpool and it wouldn't surprise me to know if the cover up went all up to the top to her

She knew for a fact, but that old cow got what she deserved, what goes around comes around.

Mmmmmmmm,maybe try that then eh?

As much as I did not like Thatcher I am pretty disgusted by that last remark to be honest and I am surprised Mods have not removed it.

Guys, dont give the trolls what they want - notoriety.

Yes they pick their targets, and from a safe distance.

For the people who have helped in any small way over the years, thank you. We dont want to keep talking about it either, we want accountability for the ones who were at fault, and also helped to cover up what happened.

After that we dont want it all in the public domain, and we will remember in our own way, and will not expect others to. But until that day comes, we will keep seeking justice and keep it in the public domain. If you dont like it turn over, look away.

Thatcher said a few shocking things about Liverpool and at one time suggested that the country Abandon Liverpool to managed decline

Lots "celebrated" her death as she caused a lot of misery to people. She was happy to let the North die away

It's maybe a bit paranoid IMO, more likely the old boys network in the old bill at the time kicked in. Football fans at the time were a convenient/ easy scapegoat. No one except the families etc looked too hard for the truth.

Justifying the comment.

Well done,it seems that makes it totally acceptable and if you are happy with that fire on my man.

Does it really make some one a troll just because they have an opinion that goes against the grain? I'd rather be honest & be called a troll, than say what I think people want to ear.

I'm not justifying anything - I just understand the feelings towards her and understand why people reacted as they did when she died.

Pretty surprised by this tbh.I reckon if your over the age of 40 and follow a team you've been in a situation at a match when you've been scared by the crowds. Now multiply it to the extent of nearly 100 folk being crushed to death.I can't comprehend that and I'm quite happy to remember the poor souls that never came back, just like I do with Bradford,Heysel and Ibrox.

Those who died aren't to blame, but I"m going to be a wee bit controversial here. We've all been outside grounds, had a beer and maybe a wee bit late, we've all been in the sway and part of the collective crowd, so when that gate opened, we'd have all pushed forward trying to get in, not trying to kill folk, not wanting to harm anyone, just wanting to get in.So the blame lies nowhere near any Liverpool fan that day, they might be part of the reason why it happened, but the blame and subsequent coverup was a disgrace to democracy and its interesting the same police force was at Orgreave.

I read an article by Hansen the other day, having zero interest in who wins the league this year, I thought it would be a nice touch if Liverpool managed to do it and have Gerrard lift it with his cousin looking down.
