I know this post may upset some people, but I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of of all this Hillsbrough crap.
Matches kicking off today at 3.07. Then 96 seats left vacant at wembley, for heavens sake just let it lie.
Whilst I sympathise with those who lost relatives in this tragic event I am just so so sick of keep hearing Hillsbrough, Hillsbrough.
There wasn't this much or any fuss made over the Bradford fire disaster.

I hear what you say to be honest. What happened was awful and they should all never be forgotten but this constant grief mongering is OTT in my opinion.

Remember quietly please.

Thankfully football hasn't suffered many mass losses such as this but there are others, The Busby Babes for example, that get remembered but not to the extend Hilsborough does. Every time they open another inquest I think to myself, her we go again. It was tragic but I don't think we'll ever get to know the truth.

Hillsborough "crap"

25 years now and still looking for justice

96 people died whilst going to watch a football match through no fault of their own

Bradford is still remembered but at Bradford there wasn't a massive cover up by the police and by keeping it in the media and highlighted the families have finally been given the chance to find out the truth of what happened and the cover ups and hopefully justice will be served and punishments to the people that deserve them

Maybe if you had lost a relative or a friend that day you would understand why people keep fighting to find out and want it kept in the mainstream.

All that is every asked of other clubs fans is it observe a minutes silence.

96.

Phil & piece have it right, it can't be put to bed until justice is served and the facts known.

The families have done an amazing job of keeping it on the news agenda, and marking it is part of that.

This year being the 25th and maybe next year after the inquiry has published it's findings, could be the last it's marked in this way, so you shouldn't have much longer to put up with it :o

I understand where the OP is coming from. Obviously it was tragic & I feel for the families, but I do get a bit sick of hearing it.
Nice that Stevie G recently donated £96k to the charity, just not sure why it had to be made public.

Ok guys, recognise it's a very emotive subject, can we ensure no comments overstep the mark at this is the sort of thread that can get out of control very quickly

Thanks

Why bit "sick" of hearing it ? How exactly is it harmful to anyone for it to be remembered or to hear about.

There was a massive cover up afterwards - fans being blamed plus many many other cover ups by authorities and police - it will be kept in the mainstream until the families and the club get the justice they deserve , until people like Duckenfield are punished for their crime and until the South Yorkshire Police and the FA are held accountable for their actions in causing the deaths of football fans.

I have no problems with hearing about Munich disaster or Bradford or Ibrox or any tradegy where people have died through no fault of their own - we remember every year people who died in World Wars.

And most large donations to charity get made public - Gerrard lost his cousin that day and his donation will be made purely for that reason as opposed to any other.

"If you've got nothing good to say, say nothing."

Sometimes, making a comment that many might think as crass or insensitive just makes you look like a........ but that's just my opinion, just as you expressed yours.

It serves an agenda, it keeps the story in the news, that's how it works.

I don't really think Steven Gerrard needs the publicity. If you are captain of Liverpool you're tied to hillsborough, like it or not.

The question to ask maybe is would it be on the agenda 25yrs on if it was any other club?? I don't know.

Just my opinion. If people don't like it I really couldn't care less tbh. As Phil says it's a sensitive subject so I'll leave it. Hope justice is served.
