Been very tempted recently by Titleist 909D2 & Itsy Bitsy & Spider Putters. Am resisting the potential golfgear-gassing, at least for the time being. Think it could be off to my local favorite golf store with some items for them to send to golfbudder for me so I can warrent the temptation to gas on more golf gear.

It would be a sad day if we were ever satisfied.

My latest thinking is get rid of the 5-wood and 25* hybrid, neither of which I'm entirely happy with, and replace them with a 4-wood and 20* hybrid.

Of course this does involve my subjecting myself to lots and lots of testing - but I'm prepared to suffer for my art.

God I need more willpower.........

I feel your anguish.

we feel your Pain.

Take a deep breath........

I need some serious therapy...

I go in and stare at it all some evenings... how sad am i!

I tend not to think of myself as a golf shopaholic, then i take a look in my garage

Poor fella needs help.

GUYS GUYS!!!
You dont need therapy and your not sad
Just answer me one question.
Does HID think there is such a thing as too many shoes? or handbags? or clothes?
How many shoes can she wear at once anyway?
Let me take your pain away :D

Sounds like I may run into you at DG in Cambridge, planning on having a bit of an iron test on Sunday if the problems persist with the current ones.

Wrong day again, Saturday for me but yes it will be DG, I think AG are beginning to notice.

We really are going to have to get a game going this year.

Giving the irons one more round on Saturday morning before any decision is made but may be there in the afternoon. The £199 Cobra FP are looking tempting but will need to go to NB in Peterborough to try the MD Superstrongs. Once the weather is better will certainly be up for a game, certainly any forumer is welcome at Stoke Rochford.

Gentlemen Please !

You know you will be back in the same place and same frame of mind next year. The bravado that goes with the "settled bag" is just a load of tosh. We're all seduced by the shiny clubs we see racked so beautifully im the various outlets we peruse. It may not be this week, but it will be some time soon! get ye behund me satan !

Don't give in to this temptation, at least not until the current bats inflict a real hammering to your moral and general phsyce. Then it's time to get rid of the useless B's and get some new ones.

Oh the joys of being a golfer !

How does it go.

Hello, my name is Dave and I'm a golfaholic.

PS I have a settled bag (this week)

:)

I keep drooling over Wilson Staff Smooth.....not the club per se, but the word Fujikura.......reminds me of the 100s of damn near perfect 3 woods I've hit with my TM R5 dual...

I'm a hoarder. At the moment there are two callway and a TM carry bags rattling around (must get round to selling these) a set of X20 plus X forged wedges (52 and 56), several putters, a hybrid and a cally 460 big bertha

That said I've not been too bad for golf buying lately. I've just received a thank you from GM for the forum stuff which will be tested at the weekend and I got a 58 degree wedge recently but apart from that I'm good. Its balls that are my weakness. I bought a dozen bridgestone after the thread on here, have just got a dozen Z star and still have many dozens of Cally tour, Srixon URS and Pro V in a cupboard.

Homer,
That's not hoarding, thats selective collecting. Hoarding is when there's no more room for another rack for old clubs in the garage !

I'm not too bad these days. However, I hardly ever part with drivers and putters unless they prove to be the work of Beelzebub.

I have 3 modern drivers and 1 aging GBB.
I believe I have just 4 putters a.t.m. (Ping/Odyssey/MacGregor/TM monza).

However, the temptation to collect yet more (different lofts, different styles etc) is strong in me. (Don't tell obi-wan).

I have issues.... :(

I don't have issues just a wife losing patience when two dozen balls collapse on the floor every time she tries to get something out the wardrobe or I have tomove three bags as something drops behind them etc. I keep promising a huge HomerJDay where everything must go and that I'd used the proceeds on a weekend away. It keeps her quiet although deep down I think she knows it will only go on the latest great golfing hope

I arent too much of a Club buyer to be honest, my Zing2's lasted 12yrs, before I changed to AP2's last Sept, and my G5 Driver was the first I ever bought 3yrs ago, only replaced courtesy of the GM Titleist Custom fitting session which provided me with the 909D2 in Feb.
My War Bird 5W is vintage by most standards !!

Even the Odyssey 2 Ball has been in the bag 2yrs or more, as the Rossie was collared by my son.

I do think you have to really get used to clubs to get the best out of them, and it seems that a lot of you do change more than me, but hey ho, thats what shiny stuff does to you eh !!

Bob.

Loving your sig tonight. And for all those thinking that the latest bit of kit is for them, and the next best thing since sliced bread - (I'm a fine one to talk!). The sig would go something like this.

Betamax
35mm SLR
Disc camera
110 film camera (remember those!?)
Laser disc player
HDDVD
VHS
CRT TV
Economy 7 night storage heaters
Countless mobile phones
A few PDAs
Amstrad computor
Amstrad E-mailer
DAT (audio tape)
Audio cassette player
Cassette Walkman
CD Walkman
ZX81
Vinyl records
Kids (only joking!)

I'm sure I'm not finished, but it'll do.

(That's really depressed me to think that I've spent a vast fortune on some (most) of this stuff).
