Stuck in a jam behind an accident this morning on the way to the course. Had to stick my toe down and got to the car park about 3 mins before my tee time, luckily a call ahead had got the pro to register me and fill my card in.

Shoes still untied as I got on the tee, asked my 2 playing partners to go first whilst i tied my laces and got a ball and tees etc.

Tee it up still out of breath a little, high toey floater that probably just sneaks over 200yds in the right rough. Thinned 9 iron 25 yards through the back of the green onto the ladies 2nd tee. "TC Chen" the chip which goes as far left as it does forward. Skull the next chip past the pin, lucky break with my 15 foot return putt, smash it way too hard hits the back of the cup but jumps up and settles in the bottom of the hole for an opening double bogey 6.

Proceeded to play the remaining 17 holes in 62 shots to finish on 2under !!!!! It only included 21 putts!!

Now, what about that hour warm up on the range, stretches and mental preparation we are all told to use??!! :D

The guy who holds our course record never warmed up - ever.

He'd be walking to the 1st tee still pushing his feet into his shoes. He'd get to the tee, select a ball, a tee and a club and then shoot level par - or better.

Makes you sick.. :)

nice, an american report a couple of days ago said any warmup for any sport does not help one bit!!!

Good effort,

todays warm up consisted of one practice waft of the big dog before letting it go!

Shot a 79 net 61 and -9 :)

Nothing spectacular today just consistent, 1 dbl bogey and 1 birdie with 30 putts.. Seemed to have gained a 15 yard draw on my irons now which isnt good.

Good scoring Robobum , you probs would have shot a par on the first for a 66 if you'd warmed up :D

Was it for h/c or just to rob some money off your mates ?

Tiger - iron play was horrendous, hence the low putts. Chip & putt all day, including 3 chip ins. :o

Jam - more important than a handicap cut.............bagged the cash!! :D

Is that the same report that says donuts filled with chips and lard aren't fattening?

2 under par.... nice shooting Robobum!

Great shooting mate.....I was also lastminute.com on the tee this morning, but unfortunately my tardiness only yielded a 31 pointer......Putting was opposite to yours...couldn't buy one all day and missed 2 gimmees, which is probably just as well my partners didn't gimmee them!!!! :o :D

Great shooting and I guess there may be a lesson in there somewhere. I played better even with my warm up and we scored 37 points in the 4 ball better ball. Nothing spectactular but 20 points between us coming home. We just couldn't get anything going and never really gave ourselves chances to attack. We also commited the cardinal sin of both failing to score on the 3rd.

Not sure I could play as well as that (even with the requisite talent) as I'd be too rushed and wouldn't get into it for a few holes by which time the damage to my card would probably be irretrievable
