To the educated and experienced GM members...

I was recently fortunate enough to be the grateful recipient of £300 in vouchers for Currys.

Now, the missus doesn't yet know I have this. The missus has also been telling me for a month that she needs a new Hoover and undoubtedly, after buying her a Dyson hand held for Christmas (yes, i did that and got away with it), she will more than likely want a full on Dyson and therefore Goodbye £300.

More importantly, I'm eyeing up the Garmin S1 and also the new Xbox one. As you will all no doubt agree, either one of these items is of far greater importance than a Hoover...

So, do I keep quiet, get the S1 and save the rest to go toward the Xbox or do I let domestic 'bliss' rise to the fore once more (until about 5 mins after the Hoover is bought anyway) and surprise her again with another romantic gift chipping in the extra £50 or so from my rarely opened wallet...?

Your advice would be most welcome.

PS: I don't want the S3 as I believe I won't use the added features.

You're lucky she still lets you play golf after buying her a vacuum cleaner for xmas!

buy the hoover sir, tell her the truth and you have one in the bag when you need new clubs.I don't see the be all and end all of these watches, laserfinders and such a like as we have been working it out for ages before they came along.

Buy her the hoover with the vouchers - and then buy yourself and S1 using your secret married man's slush fund.

Got a Garmin S1 recently, great and easy to use, much lighter then a Dyson, only £120, leaves you a little bit to go toward a new Dyson though

Give HID the vouchers and tell her to go spend em on what she wants, she might by a vacuum, bonus the house gets clean, she might buy an iron, bonus your shirts and pants get creases.

YOu could waste you money on a X-Box one, or you could go for a short game lesson and wedge fitting and buy a couple of new wedges.

Or better still take HID out a for a nice meal and donate the rest to H4H

Not into glamour and glitz fortunately, she was genuinely happy with it as she was still recovering from a C-section (I'm all heart, see :D).

Only just bought new Clubs by.... ;)

I'm feeling the love for the dyson so far and brownie points thereafter. I may take her out in the morning for a surprise treat :p.

On a slightly separate note, whilst price matching I noticed that Curry's sell the G3 for £192 whilst Tesco (and others) are currently selling it for £118!! Now I know they have overheads etc but isn't that one of the main reasons why Comet fell flat on their arse?

Glad you cleared that up - the OP is about vacuum cleaners then. Thought HID wanted something made by Hoover but OP wanted to something made by Dyson!

Anyway, buy the vacuum cleaner, whatever brand seems best and you can sleep easy.

Buy her the vacuum and hope she buys you the watch.

As a side note I don't rate dyson's...perhaps that's a post for a different forum
