Ok then boys and girls,
I've finally had enough of being forced to watch Spongebob bloody Squarepants etc whilst the golf is on the other side, So i've started looking at options for a TV in the front room. Now, before I go out and buy a Freeview box, my question(s) is ...

a.. Would Sky Multiroom be a better option. I have the full Sky package in the back room so theoretically, multiroom would give me all the channels in the front room for only £10.25 a month.

b.. If, after 12 months I decide to cancel the multiroom subscription, would I keep the box, and would I still be able to get all the Freeview channels through the Sky box.

c.. Would the box and installation be free, bearing in mind that it would be my first extra box.

Thanks in advance for your help..
Danny..

I knoe u get to keep the box and yes it works as freeview....take your card out to see the channels you will keep

And phone them and tell them you want it free lol

None of the above I'm afraid. Lol

Get an Xbox. Then purchase Xbox live for £39.95 a year.
Go to Sky Go website and register your account and then watch Sky on your Xbox at no further cost to yourself apart from the annual Xbox live fee of £39.95. You won't get 100% of channels but you get all the sports movies and kids plus a few others as well.
You can actually do this with 2 Xbox therefore having triple room for £80 a year. After initial Xbox purchase.

Have the Sky+HD box at the moment.. Its brilliant for Spongebob!!! The Xbox option looks good as we have one of those already.. I assume it works on the same principle as watching Sky on the laptop...

Better actually.

I don't have sky as i dont watch much tv but my best mate set up sky go on my Xbox for the kids to watch cartoons on. Handy for me as he has full package so if I do have a free half hour I can watch the golf.

What is even better with the Xbox is, the xbox licence does not consume any of your machines you can have web access to sky (i think its a limit of 2 laptops), so what you need to do, is find a friend with the fully sky package, but not an xbox.... Then you ask them for their web login, you can then watch their sky on your TV... I think this may be frowned upon by SKy, but thats life!

I cancelled sports about 6 months ago as i didnt get to watch much, then wanted to watch the might LFC, so did just this. Its superb and my mate doesnt mind!

How is the picture through the Xbox. Does it depend on WiFi signal strength, as we have very poor signal strength here in the sticks...

Not sure what you mean by time delay.
But you have on demand which is pre recorded as well as being able to watch live TV coverage with programs available at exact same times as on an actual sky box.

I think the time delay refers to the 5-15 second lag when watching on SkyGo. I know that on my laptop, I have that lag.. but it isnt really a problem unless your mates have superfast texting fingers and keep updating you on goals that you havent see yet....
