Hi all,

Im sure all of you have gne through the regular cycles of great and poor golf.

Im currently at the lowest of those low cycles and dont know what to do. I only started playing the game seriously about a year ago. I had a slice back then like a lot of new beginners. A few lessons went well and I was starting to hit the majority of my drives right down the middle.

People have always said my swing was too fast going back so I have tried to slow it down the last couple of weeks. Since then I have developed the most ridiculous pull. I cant hit one drive straight or right. They are all going left with a huge pull straight away. I tried speeding my backswing up to normal levels for me but its now stuck there. Ive gone from mid to high 80's to high 90's and worse than when I was a beginner. Even all my iron shots are going left, without a curl but just straight left of the target.

My pro has no availability until next week for a lesson so I'm down haha.

Suppose in a strange why thats why we love the game. I know you lot cant really help without seeing my swing but I needed to vent somewhere.

I blame Rory for making it look all too easy

Don't worry it happens to us all. At least you shooting high 80's is somewhere near your handicap. I'm shooting around the same scores at the moment and i'm off 9 ;)

Sounds like a timing issue, Maybe your body or arms are getting out of sync, like your arms are way ahead when you are coming down and through, Try keeping the V between your arms and chest constant through the swing...

Just stick at it as it will get better.

I had same prob but mine went from a draw to a slice for just over a year and from shooting low 80's to over 100 which was just soul destroying when you know you are better than that.

Every shot I didn’t have a clue where it was going to end up and ended up losing love of the game. Only in the last 2 months av started to come on to a game and shooting decent scores again.

So keep the head up and keep at it as it will come back to you again
