Hello! Newbie from Cambridgeshire.

Hi all, just thought I would post to introduce myself. ( hope I haven't missed a special section for this)

I'm Jon and live in Wyton, Cambridgeshire. Just been getting back into golf over the last year after not playing for about 5-6 years. Been having a few lessons over the last couple of months. Usually somewhere in the mid to high 80's, best round to date was an 83. Hoping to break 80 by the end of the year as I have a weeks golf in turkey in December so would like to be playing some better golf by then.

Looking forward to reading up on all the different sections on here. If anyone is local to me and ever fancies a round that would be great.

I don't think there's lots from around your way, but sure there's a few. Keep your eye on the arrange a game section and there's bound to be something close ish sometime.

I not a member anywhere but usually play Wyboston,Abbotsley and Barhill. After playing Abbotsley for the first time a few weeks ago I think I will play it more often. Lovely course.

Hi Jon, welcome. I live in Somersham, played Pidley quite a bit, I'm a member at Brampton Park GC. Really good membership there and a great clubhouse of people.

Played in an old school friends golf day the other month and another old friend is a member at Brampton. He said its a nice course. Will have to look into it.

You could always Join a friendly club with Internet booking you'll soon get to meet lots of people.

Yeah there are a few around, we managed to get a four ball at Brampton start of the year, me scienceboy potor_36 and fundy, but he couldn't make it in the end.

I'm also from that neck of the woods (Duxford, couple miles south of Cambridge) but St Ives/Brampton etc only 30 mins away when the A14 isn't blocked. Played Wyboston quite a bit in hte winter when it was cheap but not been there for several months. Only been playing for 18 months but not a member of anywhere yet.
