Hello Everybody - I've got a question?

"I understand that too pal, would you buy a dozen of your balls you use for half the price you usually pay at your pro shop?"

I usually buy balls in dozen boxes, as many as 5 - 6 dozen and play the same through the summer and different ones in the winter. I pay a lot less than balls from my pro shop and I look for premium balls at the best price. At the momment I am playing Srixon Z Stars at £25 per box and I have Srixon AD333 at about £13 per box for the winter

Thanks to Mattyb0y for making me welcome, but I can clearly see i'm not by the majority. I clearly came about on the forum the wrong way. Maybe some day soon i'll join up again with another username hey!

i sure im not the only member on this forum who runs their own business. we dont try to promote it in any way(even in these troubled time) so cof mate!!

If I was wanting to promote my business, surely I would have done so, however I've not once mentioned names of my businesses. I cannot see any names in any of my posts.

I'm simply asking members a few questions pal, but please yourself, i'll now 'cof!

Not sure what prompted all the bad vibes, but I don't think the business you are proposing is suited to the club golfer, which most of us are. Corporate seems more your thing, re: the logo balls in large qty's. I belong to a society, and even they would have trouble with the volumes necessary. Business model needs adapting.

Guys who buy sticks over the internet will always deal with the known, as they know what they are getting into. Other idiots get burned buying chinese copies. Hard to tell the difference, unless you know the company involved, ie: AG, or direct golf, etc.

Quite right.

Bob and I wouldn't dream of it. :o ;)

I don't know how much of an SEO expert you are. But I'm constantly being badgered by SEO companies claiming the whole page one in three month malarky. Upon further investigation they're all 'black hat' operations.

"At the end of the day, golfers are renowed for having a bit of money, so savings of £5-10 don't really float their boat."

Can't help with your research mate. You are right in one aspect - I am a "golfer" (although some on here might disagree) who has a bit of money. A very small bit :( :(

"would you buy a dozen of your balls you use for half the price you usually pay at your pro shop?"

Nope. Being an old fa*t, I don't buy golf balls. If I need to stock up, I will occasionally hit my ball into the dodah and find a few and use the best of them. I suppose someone must buy them new though

I personally didn't mind the tone of your op, and you were up front as to what you were doing, unlike some we've seen.

I'm assuming you're just doing research atm, and aren't just going to try to flog us stuff. At least not until you get to know us better first. ;)

So with that as the basis, I'll happily answer a couple of questions :

Would you buy golf equipment offline if you havn't already? Offline ? Definitely

Where do you usually buy golf items? Local pro. AG. Direct golf.

Would you be happy using Paypal? No

What golf balls do you use, and how much do you pay per dozen? (Would you pay £29.99 for 12 Prov1's delivered?) AD333, usually £13-£16

Would you Woods or Irons online? No, but I might Rose or Rickman

If you could save 5% online of pro shop prices, where would you shop? Pro shop. But I'd ask if he could match/get nearer the internet price

If you could save 8% online off pro shop prices, where would you shop? As above

Would you buy golf equipment off eBay over an online shop? No

Would you go to a website, if you saw a decent deal in Golf Monthly Mag? Maybe, but probably not

The 14 day thing on clubs wouldn't interest me. I wouldn't buy a set of irons off t'internet. I nearly once bought a club off a company that advertised on the net, but only because I could go to the store and physically pick it up. I got my irons off the local pro, who actually beat the best price I could find on the net, without me asking.

I bought my bag off Amazon. The only internet purchase I've made.

Hope that helps.

this is just another way of promoting your (now more than one business) reading between the lines you ARE trying to promote a business, by pretending to do research. so im out.
but if you do continue to post and join in 'hello and welcome'
now how does saving 35% on your heating bills sound to anyone? it is just for research, also how many on here are having some plumbing problems? now if i only knew a plumbing and heating engineer..... :D :D :D

My knowledge on SEO is limited in an eMarketing sense!

However there is always the case for Black Hat isnt there?, so i personally would consider a internet based marketing strategy that is NOT sole dependant on using SEO to increase awareness!!

Combine decent SEO with some well managed adword campaigns and you'll do just fine if your website is any good.

Saying that, I do just fine without adwords :D

With regards to market research, loads of members here buy from online so if you get yourself to the top of the SE's you'll probably make loads of sales (only 72,000,000 results for 'logo golf balls' so it should be easy).

Where are you getting Z stars for 25 squids mate?

It wasn't Leesports as in the next post to you but I only have the receipt at work so will post the details on Tuesday if you want.

I could be page 1 on google within 3 months
Page 1 for what phrase exactly? It's easy to get to page 1 if your search terms are obscure enough...but of course no one will ever see your page because no one's searching for those phrases. If every other logo golf balls site is also using SEO to get to the top of Google's search results, what makes you think you can do better than them? Just curious.
