Hello, come on in, make yourself at home!

OK, I seem to have some support... thankfully it's not me. To be fair the moderator who handled seems a very sincere chap and due to that I've agreed to post for a week and post again, to see what happens. I was going to trail through the for sale section and count posts but that's like too much effort and the X-Factor's on!

for what it's worth... I'm still getting used to posting and the last post has a quote in... in fact what I wanted to do was quote Homer... God loves a trier :o

Click the quote button on the post you want to use and it brings up all of it.

Lol all the bandwagon jumpers, I wasn't involved with this one but I know tat as soon as someone gets ripped off, the same users would be complaining that not enough was done.
One rule for all...
There isn't a hard and fast rule on the actual amount of posts nor amount of time joined. I regularly delete spam accounts but there are some that exist that date back months if not years.

Remember, you have no automatic right to sell stuff here, eBay charge for the pleasure and will take anyone's money. Be patient and it'll happen here, free.

Hey, they're are my new friends you're talking about! All of them are getting a discount code to be used in my specialist golf factory in deepest China!

Very good. Your in :D

Rule seems fair to me. I joined recently and genuinely tried to flog two woods but the post was taken down. I was cheesed off but read the rules and thought, "yeah ok, I see the logic". Cuts out most of the selling spam if you ask me :D

And yes I was reading posts a long time before I joined... :)

Bl@@dy Hell... the amount of posts you've done and they won't let you sell... think I'll try Golf Magic, it looks like anyone can sell on there!

I tried to sell after about 10 posts ;)

Ahhh... so the forum is like Hotel California??

I had a similar issue with 6 or 7 items I listed too - all with 4-5 high rez pictures showing as much detail as possible.

Surely people can tell a duff sale from a genuine one? As they say you buy the seller not the item. I can appreciate that the mod's are trying to protect forum users too, but would it not be an idea to ask for more detail from the seller and give him a time frame to respond before deleting adverts?

I am in no way trying to question the way things are done - I just felt a little annoyed when I was told to stop posting.

Sorry for the moan!

Matt :D

I personally feel that if anybody has been on this site for quite some time they should be allowed to sell, irrespective of their post count.
If somebody was coming on to stitch people, surely they wouldn't stick around for 2 years before attempting to do so?
Is there any limit to how long somebody has to be on here before they can buy?

The way I see it is this, there are loads and loads of users that have registered up to three years ago and never posted, would you buy something from them even though they have been a member for years? As for buying stuff as you are sending the money first so I would reckon all the "risk" would then be on they new member. How would feel if one of the people that had been a member for a couple of years but had no posts offered something that you wanted so organised to buy it sent the money and you never heard from them again?

I'm not advocating buying from somebody with no posts at all Chris.
But a guy was selling some clubs a while back, had been on the site for the best part of 2 years. Had only made a few posts (about 25 I guess) but looking at his post history all of them were valuable ones, giving advice and asking specific things, rather than just posts for posts sake.
I think a little more common sense is needed before just deleting for sales posts immediately, just because somebodys post count isn't up to what we would class as "the norm".

Spot on Chris, the mods and admin would be the first to get a complaint if someone got ripped off by a 'member' with a few posts in years. It's a forum and dies if no-one actually posts so 1 post a month quite frankly isn't enough IMO. The FS section needs a few stricter rules before there's an 'incident'.

Agreed and to be fair I had posted previously, had about 5 or 6 photos and even in the description highlighted everything the buyer should be aware of.... In fact when I come to sell at the end of the week I wonder if the old posts could be resurrected to show. I do feel common sense didn't come into play and personal discretion was used but incorrectly in my view. Some will agree a lot won't, as it happens since I've started posting I've enjoyed it so every cloud and all that! And the moderator even seems to have a sense of humour which I doubted in my early DM's ;)
