Hearts V Liverpool , handbags of britain

Steve

I care, I have supported Hearts for 60 years through good and bad times.

It was a good game.
Why talk somethimg down just to sound like a smartya.
If it was one of the Dundee teams playing Liverpool I would still be cheering them on.

No sounding like a smart arse just giving my opinion that they are 2 poor teams and they are.

I don't support Hearts but tonight I did - and they played fine and it was a pretty good game - and I'd support either Dundee team in a European match.

And yes - our game has been struggling for the last 25yrs (since Souness arrived at Ibroke) - and yes I'd like to be able to support the newco in Europe - but until they shut the **** up about how their probs are the fault of the rest of us, then I won't (actually can't for at least 4 years). So as Scots - let's support our teams as they try and do their best for Scotland - and let's not whinge about us not being very good - cripes - we know that.

None of those 2 teams anyway,Liverpool are a poor outfit have been for a few seasons i'm sorry to say. i dont think Rogers is the man to take them further,1 goood season at Swansea isn't enough.

To be honest i haven't even looked to see whose in it but i would put money on a Spanish team as they value the competition more than English clubs who see it as as hidderance for the Holy Grail that is the Premiership.

You may be right, but if we stopped caring/supporting crap teams, there would be no football. Football is full of fairy tale endings, unusual results so I'll dream on whilst still having that little kid in me that still believes that my team might just do it this season.

Millions of us with that attitude, which is why footy is still the best supported sport. Don't you dream? If so, what's in your dreams?

I'm going for some now, enjoy your own. :)

Seem to remember Inverness Calie Thistle beating Celtic a good few seasons back and it was seen as the end of their footballing world. Every dog has their day and believe me it takes a lot to support some less fashionable sides. I've done my stint on the terraces at Plymouth, Crewe or Doncaster in the rain watching your inept centre forward miss a sitter on the way to losing 3-0. You just have some blind faith that one magical day your time will come

I even remember Ross County beating Celtic AND Ross County is the wee team cast off Inverness Caley Thistle players go to!!

In fact Celtic were lucky last week against Ross County, scoring in the 93rd minute with 10 seconds left on the clock to scrape a DRAW!!

Seen as the end of their world? You talk some crap sometimes Homer,it was a blessing as it got rid of that joker Barnes.

I said couple weeks back that none of our teams would get by their 1st opponents and amazingly only my team look like proving me wrong,Craw is spot on,our game is fecked and has been for years and my team will be embarrasing in the CL group stages.

I think that other countries have become a lot stronger needs to be added to the equation.
30 years ago a Scots club drawn against a Danish, Portugese or Chech side would be look on the game as a walk in the park.

Well said Hogan especially your last para.
Why are there so many Weerie Williies in Scotland ????? Alcohol, Daylight Hours, Henpecked, Chips on Shoulders or just plain old miserable gits.

Turned out to be an interesting match. I knew Liverpool were taking a chance playing such a weakened side but I didn't really expect they'd be second best for so much of the game. Very lucky to get the win in the end.

This is a game Liverpool could have won by several goals had they shown their opponents proper respect. Hearts are not a great side but you can't expect to turn up with a second string team and roll teams over. I watched it with a Liverpool fan who was pretty bullish about it - Man City game is more important at the weekend - but it was uncomfortable viewing for him.

I was born in England and am England through and through, but have a Scottish dad and I lived in Scotland for 7 years as a kid. Have followed Hearts since 1966 a season ticket holder up until I became a father 8 years ago. I haven't been up to Scotland to watch the game as much as I'd like, but Fletcher can't be that bad when Real Madrid were watching him for a couple of seasons
Has MoN completly lost the plot £13m for Stephen Fletcher.
You could nearly buy half an Andy Carrol for that.

He's not too bad but............. £13 MILLION Pounds.

Mind you an artist has created a football pitch in the middle of a Borders forest for £460,000.
It will be used for one day then allowed to become woodland again.

Yes
Not quite the 10-0 thrashing that some Liverpool fans on here were predicting.

Tynecastle is always a bit of a shock to the E&WPL teams. Tight ground with loads of atmosphere. We should have won there but who knows what the result would have been at Liverpool if that had happened!
