Hearts V Liverpool , handbags of britain

Total disrespect from Liverpool in team selection. Probably good enough to win in fairness but deserve to lose!

Contradiction at its finest.

It's all about the squad these days and its good to see the manager resting the big boys for the big game saunday rather than playing them against some tinpot side from Scotland.

F/D you may be correct, but it isn't top of our priority list at the moment. Lost one game already and with Man city on Sunday (who havent a midweek game), we will have to keep our best team for that.

A score draw would be a decent result for us tonight, especially with the return at Anfield to come.

Bear in mind a striker costing £35M would have played if not for injury, we are playing a Scottish international (make of that what you will), Carragher, Agger,an Italian international as well as filled out with squad players and up and coming youth.

I think if Chelsea, Man U, City, Arsenal etc were also playing against Hearts it would be a similar thing, except there squads are bigger/better than ours. They wouldn't have their top players in though.

A shame for the Hearts fans, but they still look up for it.

Wish I was there, but just started a new job this week, so would have been too cheeky. I would have got a ticket also. :(

Decent enough game event though I couldn't quite get fully into it. Fair play to the Hearts fans who were giving their team some vociferous support. Thought Hearts were good for an hour and seemed to run out of legs a fraction. I don't think Anfield needs to be that scary for them. Others have gone there in recent years and won so it could happen but saying that my money is on Liverpool 3-1

Good effort Hearts.

After all - if you believed all the s$$t spouted by so many followers of the team who used to be the mighty all conquering (so they say) Rangers FC (deid) - then all the SPL teams left are no better than Sunday league standard - so I wish they'd shut it! really and truly.

Come on Scottish football, and that other lot can just b**ger off (cos they seem to hate us and hope we all go bust) and go fester in div 3 and feel all sanctimonious. Ramsden Cup and Div 3 champions yer target - good luck.

Am I pi$$ed off with the guff emanating from Ibroke Stadium - well yes I am. So well done Hearts - it was YOU playing Liverpool tonight not that other bunch.

BTW - I'm not a bigot - far from it - no matter what CG thinks - t**t!

Apologies if I upset any non-Rangers FC (deid) supporters with my rant. Being a Glaswegian of Highlands (Perthshire) & Islands (Inner Hebs) extraction I have no time for either of the 'big' Glasgow teams - and for that I suffered as a kid and in my teens. Schadenfreude is marvellous.

Sergio built up a pretty good team last year and I hope Johm McGlyn can carry it forward.
He is a very good youth team coach and I think Hearts played with 4 teenagers tonight.
Certainly gave the millionare reserve team players of the less than mighty Liverpool a footballing lesson in the first 30 minutes.
Shame about the own goal.
Perhaps the liverpool fans will not be so arrogant about Scottish football in future, but I doubt it.

Where's the arrogance from.

Would you have picked your best side with a massive league game on Sunday, against last years champions. Where would you put a Scottish league side (outside of celtic) in the grander scheme of things as a seed in the Europa league? We also have a 2nd leg to come at home, so why play all our "big guns"?

Played there diddies against a diddy Scottish team and proved it was enough. Fact is our league is dire and the quality is also dire.

Hardly arrogant but it certainly is laughable. Our league set up is a mess and rotten to the core.

Steve

I care, I have supported Hearts for 60 years through good and bad times.

It was a good game.
Why talk somethimg down just to sound like a smartya.
If it was one of the Dundee teams playing Liverpool I would still be cheering them on.

Cogent point of view.

Who'll win it then?

None of those 2 teams anyway,Liverpool are a poor outfit have been for a few seasons i'm sorry to say. i dont think Rogers is the man to take them further,1 goood season at Swansea isn't enough.

To be honest i haven't even looked to see whose in it but i would put money on a Spanish team as they value the competition more than English clubs who see it as as hidderance for the Holy Grail that is the Premiership.
