Hearts in Admistration

You are actually nowhere near on that one. Firstly I've never seen that many C of St G flown at Ibrox tbh, massively outnumbered by the RHOU which would make sense given the amount of support from Northern Ireland. The odd C of St G you may see will generally bear the name of an English based Rangers Supporters Club.

Next, I fail to see why a Rangers supporting Unionist would feel any requirement to associate themselves with English Nationalism and the EDL (bearing in mind they are not one and the same) surely their support would be for the SDL rather than the EDL.

Sorry - misread your post where you mentioned the CofSG - which as it happens is to me as a Scot an 'alien' flag when flown in Scotland (though not sure I'd quite use the word alien - but it'll do). In the same way as my Saltire is viewed as 'alien' in Surrey. Were I to fly it down here it would be viewed by some as provocative.

Sorry fella... But that's rubbish... Whatever else us English are we are very tolerant with regard this... Lots of homes around here are proud to display the flag of their home nation and no one bats an eyelid...

Maybe in 'superior' Surrey, but not so in the 'near London' parts of Essex!

Did Southhampton not stay up from a 15 point deduction a few years ago.

Strangely enough I think Hearts would have been docked 18 points if they went into administration at the back end of last season. That would have relegated them.
Slightly unfair to Dundee.

Not only stayed up but very nearly made the play offs, and won the JPT in the same season (it was only 10 points)
Interesting to note Trevor Birch has been appointed administrator. After the financial murder he got away with at Portsmouth Hearts fans should have no worries...

He's just come out with a statement that its the worst case he's delt with so maybe they have

Two banks squabbling over a fitba club and they appoint BDO as administrators.......we're doomed a tell ye doomed.

PS Always knew a thread about Hearts would end up as an Uglies flag waving jobby.

Since the SPL was a 12 team league (2000) only once have Hearts finished less than 15 points above the bottom team and that was last season. Assuming we can run on an empty tank till the season starts and income starts coming in and we get out of admin before the window closes, I reckon this will end up a good thing for Hearts.

Debt free with new owners and a 13,000 average attendance. Absolutely possible and 15 points ought to be overcome given the dross in the league.

Liquidated and disappearing completely ? Sorry Hibs fans but highly unlikely given the existing customer base is still intact.

Just make sure that you mobilise the troops and come marching up to Perth en masse for the opening game of the new season. Would be good to have a 8000+ attendance.

Its bad enough that teams both north and south sometimes get into financial difficulties, but to then hit them with a 15 point penalty for going into administration smacks like kicking a bloke when he is down.

What chance have they got of staying up this year with a start like that, the whole season is a write off.

I do think that this penalty is grossly unfair

As unfair as cheating your way to two Scottish cup victories? ( both at the expense of my club)
As unfair as paying players you couldn't afford, finishing higher up the league than clubs who cut their cloth accordingly whilst the gorgie hoardes happily jumped on the band wagon?

no, the penalty is fair. What happens next will also be fine by me.HMFC will no longer exist in it's current guise by xmas, they'll also not be playing football at tynecastle.I've suffered crap chat from jambos since romanov came to town, wee team, hobo, peg seller,5-1,1902,rudi rudi rudi.I'm loving this.

btw, as much as there is a minority of eedjit bigots at tynie (and ER) this flag nonsense is not an Edinburgh thing, keep it in the west, please.

It's meant to be a disincentive to over-extend.

Whether it works or not is a moot point, but as 'compensation' to other clubs for 'unfair' activity, it seems a reasonably appropriate,if somewhat delayed. punishment.

..and folk down south seemed 'upset' to hear of the demise of dear little romantic Gretna. Welll they cheated a lot of Scottish lower division clubs (mine included - back then) out of success and 'stole' their best players offering pennies in transfer fee but SPL salaries. Was there much sympathy up here for Gretna - nope.

And whilst I am disappionted - in a way - that Hearts find themsleves in the mess they are in - Romanov provided the shovels and showed how to dig - and boy did they dig and dig - and the hole they are now in is all of their own digging. So my sympathy is limited.

As a Dunfermline Athletic supporter, a club who are currently in the same predicament and awaiting news as to whether we are going to be bought out and survive, can I wish the true Hearts fans on here all the best in the coming weeks and months. It's absolutely horrible thinking that your football club may no longer cease to be.

As for some people hoping that Hearts do indeed become extinct especially Hibs fans, be careful what you wish for, it may be a great laugh at the minute but Hibs need the money from Hearts games and if they lose 2 sellout games a season well they will have to budget accordingly, it will be a big financial loss for Hibs.

Raith and Falkirk fans have revelled in our recent problems but both will miss out on their biggest gates of the season next year after we were relegated due to points deduction (which I have no qualms about), this of course will affect their budgeting for next season quite heavily I imagine.

Scottish football is in a fragile state at the minute and I wouldn't be surprised if we have another club or two following Hearts during the summer or next season.

It might be a short term hit for Hibs, but I think we'd accept that.Imagine the capital city of Scotland having one team, with the population, the revenue streams and inward tourism.all current jambos kids growing up supporting Hibs...I reckon we'd take the chance.

.

This absolutely. Portsmouth fans were loving it when we were in trouble, they were planning liquidation parties and all sorts. What they didn't realise, or chose to ignore, was their brief run of success was being funded by empty promises, which has now come back and bitten them hard on the backside. So don't gloat too hard, it could be them laughing at you, just like we laugh at them!:D

Don't worry mate - absoluitely hoping that Hearts do survive and that you lot get out of your hole as well. Scottish football (outside of Paradump and Ibroke) needs as all - we faced-up Armageddon and it didn't happen - but the likes of Saints do need strong Dunfermline and Hearts. We get slagged off by all and sundry for our crap support, crap this, crap that - but we try to play fair on and off the pitch - and we got 3rd somehow last season. Good luck.

For clarity, I hope dunfie survive, outwith the laddie Yorkstone I've got alot of time for dunfie, from scoring a goal when we hired the (then astro) pitch to finest steak bridie to be found in this country, a decent team, mismanaged at the behest of David Murray.

Here's hoping we survive as well and yes Yorkston is a clown and an embarrassment to many Pars fans, we won't go into Masterton and Murray

Ah the old plastic pitch eh  another SPL farcical decision which cost the club hundreds of thousands of pounds and here we are a few years later with International and Champions League games being played on them as well as a good few teams in Scotland having them installed permanently.

Scottish football is on its knees and in real danger of losing a few of its long standing and bigger clubs unless something is done to get the crowds back but I think it may be too far down the road now and people just don't have the interest in the game anymore
