You are actually nowhere near on that one. Firstly I've never seen that many C of St G flown at Ibrox tbh, massively outnumbered by the RHOU which would make sense given the amount of support from Northern Ireland. The odd C of St G you may see will generally bear the name of an English based Rangers Supporters Club.
Next, I fail to see why a Rangers supporting Unionist would feel any requirement to associate themselves with English Nationalism and the EDL (bearing in mind they are not one and the same) surely their support would be for the SDL rather than the EDL.
Sorry - misread your post where you mentioned the CofSG - which as it happens is to me as a Scot an 'alien' flag when flown in Scotland (though not sure I'd quite use the word alien - but it'll do). In the same way as my Saltire is viewed as 'alien' in Surrey. Were I to fly it down here it would be viewed by some as provocative.
