Headwear

Bright red Galvin Green beanie in the winter of which one of the seniors dubbed me Ali Gee and baseball cap in the 2 days we have called summer (J Lindeberg)

In winter, anything to hand that is snug and warm.

In summer, Greg Norman special, literally to stop sunstroke. I was going to say I get it at the drop of a hat, but that would be stupid.

Doh !

BTW Vig. Isn't wearing teenagers on the course ( be it forward or backwards ) a bit of a distraction, and arguably against the rules.

BB caps for me all of the time

Mostly Cobra's they have nice colours but when its cold the Titleist bobble hat comes out its all fleeced lined so no itchy head for me

I wear a basic baseball cap ( Benross ) in the summer , with sunglasses , if its bright to shield my eyes from the sun mainly as my eyes can be quite sensitive to bright lights  BUT i also make sure that i apply plenty of SPF 30 on exposed flesh , especially ears , neck , nose and forearms if the suns shining at all .

Ping Woolly in winter and preferably non in Summer unless the sun is baking my bald head, then its a TM R7 or a Wilson Staff hat that were both freebies.

Play well this weekend !

Baseball are caps are worn by the pro's because of endorsements, right?I've never really understood why people wear them on the course as I find them a wee bit distracting, and given the state of my game, the less of them the better.

I do sport a rather tasteless callaway pom-pom hat in the winter to keep my over-sized lugs warm though.

Adi I would guess you are right, although I am sure that alot of them do wear them to keep the sun out of there eyes, or like me, somewhere to keep ya sun-googs.

What was the amatures name who did really well at Birkdale last year? He never wore a cap! He didn't have a sponsor!

I've got a few random BB caps but today I bought a new summer hat - a disreputable-looking, crushable, aussie style from Tescos

mostly to keeo the sun off but also to shade my eyes.

I wear a Titleist ball marker cap usually although I do have one of those camillo Villegas style hat things (Like a military cap). It was a free gift with an online purchase, I haven't worn it yet though!

In the winter I just wear a standard Callaway wooly hat.

Have a couple of TM BB caps, just to keep the sun out of my eyes. Nice brown stussy beanie for the winter - only get to wear it playing golf as the missus says I look stupid in it. Much prefer wearing nothing on the head though - didn't pay all that money to hide my lucious thick locks away!

Do you wear an hat?
what sort? beanie, baseball, fedora, trilby.
Why do you wear it? fashion, keep your head warm, keep sun off your head, shade your eyes.

What sort of hat shouldn't be worn?

Personally, I don't like to wear anything on my head, hairline far enough back already.
I have worn wooly to keep head warm in winter and a B/ball, reluctantly to shade my eyes so that i can see the ball.

I wonder how a fez would go down at the GC?

I tend to wear whatever headgear either keeps me warm & preferably keeps the sun out of my eyes. Something difficult to achieve with a woolly hat. I Tend to wear baseball caps, though recently I've taken to wearing pork Pie & Trilby hats in an efforet to be slightly different from everyone else & to try & get away from that ammerican look of baseball caps.

I'm sure a Fez would go down fine at a Golf club, though like with Woolly hats a Fez is hardly going to keep the sun out of your eyes, so would be pointless as brimmed hats are what I tend to go with.
