Why do some clubs opt for Master Scoreboard and not HDID. I've tried to find my scores at two away open comps but cannot access master scoreboard because my club uses a different system . ???

Because golf clubs have a choice about which scoring and handicapping system they use! :)

Correct, I am a member at 2 clubs and we use masters scoreboard and intelligent golf. I like both products, having looked at hdid through a mates club I didn't rate it one bit. The club that uses masters scoreboard uses it purely down to cost and it's a good product for the money.

They probably will post the scores in the next few days, but if i'm playing early the next morning i need to know the exact VCSS to adjust my H/C downward if need be.

You should just use the SSS when the CSS is not known, as the normal procedure. So no real problem with that.

Can anyone access masterscoreboard for me and find the Vcss for today's seniors open at Strathaven gc. I scored a net 71, and might have to adjust my H/C for tomorrow mornings comp. i've tried phoning but no joy.
thanks.

We have just started using HDID and I think its great, we receive comp results a day after the comp now as apposed to 2 weeks after so anything was going to be an improvement...

Most people dislike HDID then?

thanks.

I tried to look but they have password protected their page so I can't open it.

Tried (registered member (I think) as my club use) but Strathaven have locked the page to only their club registered members with a password.

This is the only club I have found like this. Even before my new club used this you could go in and look. This is to do with Strathhaven and not Masterscoreboard. You will need to try phoning again unless a local member reads this and looks for you.
Clicking on other clubs gets me straight in to all the results etc.

edit - post same time as above and 2 people = same result

Thanks for trying guys . i just got the results this morning on the club web site , the Vcss was 73 so i got a .6 reduction for my 71. which leaves me at 14.6 playing off 15. Thanks again for trying lads

P.S.

I came 3rd in my h/c cat.

My club used HDID and went to Master Score Board because it was cheaper! The publication of the results is excellent and can be seen on the same day as the competition you have played in!

I only know HDIDo & the main complaint seems to be getting access during the peak load times of Sat & Sun when HC Sec's are uploading & members wanting to look at results. Their forum has been by good in the past but not mediated so was ruined by Trolls. My main club is on it & My 2nd Club @ SeatonCarew use it for competition entry which I've used a few times & that's excellent as I'm a Country Member & can't pop in to find a space etc. our Club also has it's own Forum space where Club issues can be discussed & opinions heard that others can't access. I'm hoping to use this in the near future to discuss team selection policy etc for our 8-15 team

HDID is a great bit of software. Our scores are posted by 7pm on Saturday and you can quickly see how everyone in the field performed. The Boss hole in one and Titleist OOM features also give every golfer the chance to win some decent prizes.

The only downside I have found is as previously stated, being unable to access the site at peak times.

From a personal point of view using the site doesn't cost me a penny but not sure of the cost to the club.
