The Manager has to go at the end of this season is Arsenal wanna win any more silverware, Because Wenger will not win them any!!!!
How do you know it's a total failure? If the board set him the objectives of just maintaining Champions League football until the debt is all paid back - then he's met that, while not spending beyond his means.
The criticism of the bloke is beyond a joke at the minute. It's time a lot of the bigger players started taking some of the responsibility on their shoulders.
Wenger has put all his efforts into building a young team to win the league and cups ...... after six years nothing.
He set himself a target and failed to achieve that, therefore he has failed .... simples.
There are no bigger players, they are all young lads who need someone in the team with experience and who has that winning mentality.
This Arsenal team lack a core players and that is Wengers fault as he has blindly perused his experiment and developed a team who when the going gets tough, rolls over again and again and again.
Needs an "English" centra half, a midfield enforcer ( think Petit, Viera, Gilberto)and a truly world class striker....oh, and a goalie !
Not a great one for Footy threads but I have to say this..
No matter the reasons, they are largely irrelevent to this, a club the size and stature of Arsenal not winning anything for 6-7 years is a disaster. Nope. Disaster is not qualifying for Champions League. Not winning a trophy is just HUGELY frustrating. You have to remember that when the Premiership was formed there was a big five ( Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle, Everton, and Arsenal iirc. By 2001 that had changed to Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal, leeds and Chelsea. IE in reality Arsenal have leapt above other teams who have historically been our equals.
Can you imagine ManU not winning anything for that length of time - whatever the reason? 1969 - 1977 Nothing 1977 - 1983 Nothing 1985 - 1990 Nothing. In fact 4 FA cups in 30 something years, no league titles, and they spent the majority of that time in the second division ( well a heck of a lot of it, anyway )
Personally, I hope Wenger stays. The way he organises his team mean Arsenal probably wont win anything for another 6-7 years. That definately won't happen - he'll either win something in the next few years or he'll quit, or he'll have a heart attack
If Aresenal are one of the Top 4(5?) then they have to win things - end of story. Says who? The British media and fans of other clubs who are jealous of us and want to bring us down to their level. When the Arsenal board set those targets, they, and they alone will be the judges
ManU and Chelsea regularly win something, I've said it before, Chelsea have only won things since Abramovich's money gives them the freedom to fail spectacularly in the transfer market, this year has proven that they cannot get anywhere without buying success. Man Utd had to ransom the club to keep up with Chelsea. So far that has proven successful. But if it ever fails, what's teh chances of Utd going the way of Leeds ?
ManC have a good chance of the FA Cup, Only since they have invested a few hundred million in their squad
even Liverpool are starting to get back to where they were And Arsenal should be jealous of them, why, exactly? Would you swap Liverpool's success over the last 20 years for Arsenal's![]()
and Spurs are no mugs these days either. Nope, but let's see how they get on either when Harry buys them the success they want and leaves them bankrupt, or see who takes over when Harry leave to take over teh England job - wow that'll be one years Champions league football and no premiership titles. Enjoy it while it lasts. It won't last much longer
But it's winning that matters - who remembers who came 2nd in Football? Everyone. True fans of any club support them through thick and thin. And only one club can win th epremiership each year. That means every year there are 19 failures
Winning is everything in this game and Arsenal just don't seem to have the knack they way they are set-up.
Something has to change........... This I agree with. Let's give Wenger the chance to change things teh way he wants and see what happens.
Ermmm only 2 managers in the premiership better than wenger!?
Slightly biased view but what moyes has done at everton with pretty much no money, small squad and having to build a team from scratch pretty much surely must make him one of the top managers in premiership.
I know everton aint actually won any silverware since he's been there but he has took them from a club fighting for relegation most seasons to a team that has challanged for europe on most seasons and bringing through some good young english players.
You don't get voted LMA manager of the year 3 times (more than any other manager) for nothing.![]()

same old rubbish being spouted. Wenger made an approach for Jagielka and Everton asked for nearly £20 mil which he is no where near worth. Song is our midfield enforcer. RVP is a world class striker. Schezny is a young and very talented goal keeper. I would like to see a new RB and some squad players to replace, Denilson, Bendtner, Rosicky and Eboue. Other than that I am happy that no major changes will be made.

I am just glad you lot are no where near the Arsenal boardroom. Although if you were you might appreciate what Wenger has done for this club. He will not quit and he will not be fired.

I agree that Moyes is a good manager, but he isn't ever going to be a potential Arsenal boss.
Everyone is judging Wenger on his success, or lack of it. Therefore to keep a level playing field everyone has to be judged the same way.
And everyone except for Fergie and Jose falls short.
