Has anyone managed to play??

Played at Royal Dornach Struie yesterday. it was a lovely day. On winter greens but no frost, prob could have got away with summer greens. The Championship course looked in superb condition, i think they were opening that today (sun). There were quite a few guys playing, remarkably there was someone wearing shorts!!!

Had a game today....sadly only 12 holes open due to an unbelievable amount of water lying on 11,12,13,14,15 and 16.....it is right up to the green at 13 and I have never seen so much lying on 16,more water than fairway showing!

The course was in great nick tho and it was noticable the lack of divots due to it being shut so it's lay off hasn't been a bad thing.

Would be amazed if any more are open next weekend especially if we get more precipitation this week coming, also the snow that has still to melt inland (still a foot 8 miles inland) still has to go somewhere so the water table is sure to rise.

Great to be back out with the lads though, let's just say there were some very ropey shots amongst my 4 but Screwback hit the ball well but putted like a complete ***! ;)

Not played today after being pretty certain we'd be open yesterday.

A decision will be made on monday am to open the course, the snow has cleared though the course is thought to be waterlogged.

Going out with my tart and kids to the farm and park this afternoon, earn myself a few brownie points for playing saturday and sunday next week. ;)

To those that have managed to play, you lucky lucky buggers.
Course still closed but most of the white stuff gone, could be Friday if the water drains off.
No range open around here so had no golf since begining of December.
Will have forgotten which end to hold

Managed a full 18 this morning. It was still temp greens but it was good to be back out again. My chipping and pitching were terrible so at least the long lay off hasn't effected them :)

Played yesterday in nine hole sweep. Level par after 8 holes only to lose ball on the 9th somewhere between here and Australia. Great to be back out all the same. All 18 were open so first full round since mid December

Was GBH there or have you tied a weight around his neckbrace and left him in the middle of the new pond on 16?
 :D ;)

Our 9 hole course was open (with nice rings of snow piled around the greens!) and apart from being very wet underfoot, the course played fine and the greens were surprisingly good.

Even more suprising was the way I played considering my last swing with a bat was on December 4th!

Ropey to say the least the four tee shots at the 9th where not exactly out the middle. Halfed match though

And as for my putting the pro rekons am adressing it closed and opening the face to get it online but if i dont open the face i will tug it left.

Dont think anyone will be round the bottom end of the course for at least a fortnight after seeing it. Still the 12 holes that are open are in excellent condition :D

Still got some snow on the shaded parts of the course. It has shifted dramatically since Friday. So the course may be open in a week or so, down side today was we couldn't even get lunch at the clubhouse today

Once the course re-opens there will be a glut of winter ties to be played I'd imagine :D

Yep - we opened again today. Hurrah. Only on temp greens though - but we'll be on those for a while until the greens dry a bit and get firmer to walk on.

The trolley ban caught a few out, so rather than everyone trying to hump oversize bags around, we swapped the swindle to a 4 club challenge. 3w, 5/7/9i did me fine. Best score for a while.

But a beautiful day - just good to be out again. Here's hoping everyone else's course is back soon.

Yes Played today at Saunton - course in remarkably good condition. Has been open since Thursday.

92 Today not too bad after the lay off - some good and bad stuff in there.

Just trying to adjust my swing to get around the 8 lbs I have put on since Xmas - no beer till the clocks go forward I reckon!!

Barum

Played full 18 yesterday--rain friday night meant fairways are wet and a bit soggy but great to get out to play.

36 points 15 front and 21 back happy with performance given the enforced 4 week lay off.
