A few years back the SGU rated the toughest courses in Scotland and Nairn Dunbar came out top.
I know a couple of top players who have played it and they said it was a beast.
The Troon muni Darley came out fourth. Now off the back that really takes some playing. Very easy to get on to play as the locals give it a wide berth, they call it a four ball [lost] course.
If you are on your todd and want some company at Dornoch, let me know!
The Ailsa at Turnberry in what I can only describe as hurricane. Pumped a driver and a 3w at the fairly short 1st and still had a 20 yard bump & run. Shot 93 and beat the two American 6 h/cappers i was paired with by a long way. They must have reloaded 6/7 times each.
Borth and Ynyslas golf links in West Wales. Tight fairways, deep rough, windy, fast greens, lots of out of bounds, generally just a tough course! Can't count how many balls i lost!
La Moye in Jersey in a gale. One of the heighest spots on the Island with no protection.
