Played a greensomes comp with Mike Stannard (HawkeyeMS) at Royal Ascot today. Both drive off, pick one of the balls and then its alternate shots from there. I was pretty nervous as he's carried me most of the year in pairs event and this is a pretty unforgiving format especially as its medal. We finished with a nett 70 (level par). There were three 68's in so out of the prizes and apart from one awful shot OB which cost a double I actually played pretty steady. At least Mike had a relatively stress free round with no real crisis to deal with. Following on from a good ball striking day yesterday I'm a happy camper

Well done mike as well.

Don't mention the tee shot he hit on the 6th though. Hangover had finally kicked in. At least I hope that was the reason the hitting a *****

I only put us in the crap (well OB actually) once so it made a pleasant chance to be contributing. Not sure what all this playing off the fairway is about this weekend. Very novel experience

Well done homer, I too am happy with life. After a little personal disaster in a medal a few weeks back I have taken a more relaxed approach to practice and golf as a whole, I have been hitting the ball rather wonderfully the last few weeks and am very scared to be vocalising it. It makes me "happy with life" too!!

We had a pretty good day all in all. I wasn't quite at my best having been out till 0130 the night before but there were only a couple of really loose ones and we weren't far away from challenging the leaders. Doubles on 4 & 12 were the ones that cost us but apart from that it was pretty solid.

The biggest revelation of the day is that Homer does have a short game :D
