Neither of us is disappointed with that.



I don't remember exactly when Valentines Day stopped being about secret admirers and became Long-Standing-Couples Day.
That passed me by - I wasn't paying attention.

If anyone received a "proper" Valentine Card today, I imagine they would be extremely worried by a possibility that they have a stalker.

Actually going out for a meal tonight, first time in 30 years together (on Valentines, not 1st time ever ) Local independent wine bar is doing a deal for £60 a couple - charcuterie board, fruit and chocolate fondue and a bottle of wine. Less than a tenner more than their usual prices so not the usual hike in prices from some places.

First valentine's day with my new partner so actually excited this year. It is also 6 months almost to the day since our first date so we are doing it all again tomorrow.

That was one that puzzled me some years ago. When restaurants started offering a Valentine's evening.
How does that work, I wondered?
Do they both have to wear blindfolds?
No longer a secret admirer, if they don't.
And then it would be a self-defeating exercise spoiling the mystery.
But I'm a romantic. Not many of us around these days, I suppose.
