Hang over golf, need useful tips

You'll probably play reasonably good golf until you start sobering up.

One word of advice. Get your caddie (or failing that one of your playing partners) to tee the ball up and pick it up out of the hole for you. Falling over is just so embarrassing :o :o

Played with a guy once who was hungover and with dodgy guts. Every other hole he disappeared into the bushes to throw up or become one with nature. 7 lost Pro V's on the front 9 and 3 points were enough and he called it a day.

Do not - repeat - DO NOT go out drinking in Croydon. You'll never see the morning let alone your tee time!!!

Listen to that man :D :D :D

Shame.

I was a Croydon boy, and, back in the day, I could safely drink in any pub from the Red Deer in South Croydon, to the Cartoon in Broad Green, and many more besides.

:(

Not just Croydon, it's the same for a lot of South London unfortunately :( :(

I'm South London born and bred - 25 years spent growing up in Norbury. The best place in the whole world!!!

Well I survived one massive piss up although naking love to the toilet at 4am with cold sweats was not nice. Don't think I been that drunk in years shot plus 16 off the whites with two eights on par 4 holes was only 2 over on the 7th tee so not bad

If I remember right, the good news (or bad news depending on how you look at it) is that the 8's will be amended to 6's for handicap purposes, and since your handicap will normally be the best of your 3 cards you could get given 12.

Bonus, only down side was Thursday I hacked round with a plus 20 so I suppose that's gonna averaged 16, which is what I've been playing too most of the year anyway, just got to get third card done.

If what you said is right does that mean any hi number scores are reduced to double bogeys

Im also South London from Camberwell (33 years), and I now can't stand the place. I still have my mum and lots of friends there, but when I drive through I despair at what it's like now.

From SW London and went back there last weekend. Even my local which use to be the centre of my universe looked iffy. The whole area looked tired and grimy. Wouldn't feel overly comf walking streets of Tooting etc anymore but would happily wander home drunk at 2.00am without a worry back then

There are a few current or ex handicap secretaries on here that hopefully will correct me if I'm wrong.

I think all cards will be amended so that the worst score on any hole is a double bogey, then your handicap will be the lowest of the 3 cards, minus sss.

Is your course's sss the same as par from the whites?

I saw the Sweet in the back bar of the Norbury back in the 80s ( New frontman, what with the original guy being dead or something :o

I have fond memories of Norbury.

But once I settled down and had kids to worry about, the first thing we decided to do was to get as far away from Croydon as possible.

I expected to, but I honestly never regretted it.

Sth London is( maybe 'was' is more accurate ) great when you're single, team handed, and fearless. But I wouldn't go back now.
