Does anyone know what you do if you are entering a second comp before the first is closed?

Captains day today and I had 38 points. Nothing to shout about, but will get me a small cut.

I'm currently on 18.1 (it's been a bad season so far), so if CSS = SSS I'll drop 0.6, and be on 17.5 tomorrow, still the same playing handicap. If CSS goes up by one, I'll be on 17.2 and losing a shot. So, in tomorrow morning's medal, do I play off 17 or off 18? Looking at the results, I suspect CSS won't move but it frequently does go up by one at ours.

Timing! Timing is everything :D.

Two minutes after I posted this they emailed the results and as suspected CSS didn't move. So, no shot cut, but actually still interested - if a comp isn't closed off, what do you play off?

Thanks Steve. Not so important now that they've posted the results, still, same again tomorrow would get me the cut. Should have been a better score but I got over-excited on the par 3 16th where there was a £10K prize for a hole in one and shanked my tee shot out of bounds.

Are you playing at the moment or still broken?

still broken (fractured ankle), go back to the fracture clinic this week, hopefully get the boot off and start rehab

Does it matter if the next comp is a medal?

Just mark your scores and submit the card. As long as you sign for the correct gross score?

Same goes do stabledord?

Only time it needs confirming is when you start playing match play or other formats where your handicap matters during the round.

Of course it matters, it is the players responsibility to ensure the correct handicap is on his scorecard (rule 6.2b) in a strokeplay event

That's class tbf!

It did make for a bit of fun. Assume that this years's Captain had just paid for the insurance, there were decent prizes to be had on all 4 par 3s for a HIO, can't remember all 4 but there was a golf holiday and a set of TM irons, with the £10K being the top one. None had to pay out! The £10K was on a 200 yard downhill par 3 that plays anywhere between 5W and 9I depending on the wind.
