Handicap increase 0.3

In which case there's even more reason for him to sort it out and take some interest!!

You might think so, but it may not be high on his/her priority list!

'Area of responsibility', 'sorting it out' and 'taking some interest' are not always associated with some folk!

If it is really getting to you mate let you game do the talking go out and shoot a good round or to and enjoyyourself

Ok so well publicised it was our Club Championship this weeked and surprisingly despite actually playing well I had 2 very poor scores, so missed the buffer and accepted that i'll get the usual 0.1 back for each round and be back playing off 8.2 where I started the year.

What happens instead is I get informed i've actually gone up 0.3 to 8.3! So a little email to the handicap secretary and he in his bizarre world be believes the 0.3 increase for 2 rounds to be correct, despite me pointing out to him 2 rounds at 0.1 = 0.2. He said no the computer calculates it and its correct so it has to stand, and said what does it really matter.

Now maybe I am being petty and squabbling over 0.1 isn't much to him, but for me its a matter of principle. Yes my playing handicap is the same so doesn't matter there, what matters to me is the correct process should be followed for handicaps so meaning it should be 8.2. After all everyone else that had 2 poor rounds looking at the reulsts only got 0.2 back but I got 0.3! I can't even complain to a handicap committee because there isn't one, I've spoken to the pro who said he can't see the issue because its only 0.1 different, and that i'll just have to play better next time to lose the extra 0.1:sbox:

So left feeling even more annoyed at the clubs lack of organisation, and ability to listen to its members!

Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent!

If you have a CDH number then you should be able to log into your playing record and view it there rather than wait on your club

extremely few handicap secretaries are paid!!!

Well, that role oftens varies according to the setup of the Club.

At one previous Club, it was the Pro Shop guys, employees of the Club which was owned by a (privately owned) Group of Companies. At another, it was run by the Director of Golf and at another by a single guy, though there was a Handicap Committee elected as part of a Club (within a Resort).

This one seems more the 'Family owned' style with an employee assigned to be H'Cap Sec'y - along with a few other roles. . This type of bod tends to simply enter the data, hit the Close and Publish buttons and doesn't want the hassle that can be involved. Could be wrong though!
