I'm clueless when it comes to adjusting handicaps and CSS etc - I always just turn up and play off whatever it says on the handicap list.

However, after a 36 hole away comp today, I am hoping someone can confirm what I think happens with big numbers - I'm just looking to find out because I want to put in an entry form where the lower the better.

So, AM round - Par 70 & CSS 70 also. I shot 1 under my handicap, so that's a 0.1 cut (I'm sure I get that bit right!) However, I holed out for an eight on a par 4 during the round - does that get reduced to a six and so ad another 0.2 of a cut.......making 0.3 in total????

Many thanks in advance :)

In effect the system uses a stableford score to work out handicap changes, hence the net double bogey (the lowest score you would get nil points for), so the 8 becomes a 7 and you get cut 0.2

Thanks Fundy, I think I get it now ;)
