I am confused after looking at howdidido and google.

Sorry a bit new to all this, so not sure how it works.

I have played three comps at my course, after being given an initial handicap of 10.0.

The first comp was a par comp and did really bad 6 down I think, but for some reason my card didn't get uploaded(not worried), so not showing and no change to my 10.

On the next comp a medal I shot 87 and got a 0.1 added to 10.1. I follow this.

At the weekend it was stableford and shot a 81, 36 points, one double bogey and the rest bogeys or pars. Got 3rd in division 1, if that has anything to do with it.

My handicap now shows as 10.0.

Does that make sense, I thought I would have remained 10.1 or adjustments down were done in 0.2s for a ten handicapper, Any ideas, thanks ?

You should have gone up 0.1 for the Par comp and you really should find out why your scorecard wasn't uploaded (you would be worried if the card merited a chop).

Your 87 merited a 0.1 increase - assuming no significant Stableford Adjustments.

Your 36 points would mean you buffered unless there is an unusual difference between your Par and SSS and that CSS went up significantly. As a Cat 2 you certainly can't be reduced 0.1 from a comp.

You really need to tell us the par and SSS of the course and the CSS for the 3 comps.

HowDidIDo (HDID) is only the Internet Reporting mechanism for the Club Systems software. It's not the 'Master' system and is dependent on timing of the 'publication'.

I can imagine a scenario where the what you describe could happen, but it's not particularly likely!

The Master record is held on you club's computer and that will (at least should) show the correct movements, even if they don't match with the HDID ones! Your Handicap Secretary/Controller is the person to ask (or check the results on the notice board at the club)

You may also be able to check via the Central Database of Handicaps (CDH) if you know your CDH number!

Logically -

1.Someone's found you par card and uploaded it
2. Your CSS was one more than par for the stableford

10 + 0.1 + 0.1 - 0.2 = 10

The par of the course is 71 and CSS on hdid shows as 71 for each of the 3 comps.

The CDH last time I looked didn't show any movements, but will look tomorrow just in case.

Didn't realise HDID was the master database to be honest foxholer, so what Duncan says could well be true and makes perfect sense. I will ask next time I go into the clubhouse.

Thank you for all your replies, that is great.

Didn't realise HDID was the master database to be honest foxholer,

Foxholer said HDID is not the master database.

The master is your club's data held on the club's server/PC (eg HandicapMaster and Club2000) or the ISV's cloud system (eg ClubV1, Intelligent Golf). See http://www.congu.com/isvs.htm

All club databases feed the relevant national union's CDH.
Club2000 & ClubV1 (parent Club Systems International) feed HDID and HandicapMaster feeds Master Scoreboard.

Whoops, forgot to type the 'not' after 'was' in the sentence , without it my sentence doesn't really make sense, doh I am so stupid. English was never my best subject, managed an U at O level at first seating, thank good for spell checker :o

There are so many rules to the game of golf etc, slowly trying to learn them.

Thanks again for your time, greatly appreciated.
