** Hanbury Manor Centenary Day Tues 5th April - UPDATE **

I seem to remember that the course is not owned by the hotel and the decision, as naff as it is, would actually have been made by the golf club. The hotel only rent tee times, at least, that is what I was told

Chris

I'm looking forward to it, I can be a long hitter, but they can end up anywhere! so i'm going to play percentage golf, as long as it hit fairways and greens im happy...

might pull out the 3 wood on 17..... it goes further than my driver!

looking forward to my 1st "meet" even if i am comin all on me tod!

handed in my 3 cards on tuesday, the handicap commitee are supposed to be pretty good with getting them back quickly, so fingers crossed it'll be done by Monday!!

I only got the membership beginning of March, its been a made rush to get 3 rounds done with a couple of members i know without taking to much week day holiday, but got there in the end!

They were ok, i'm still learning the course as I've been playing another course for the past 3/4 years, poor members scheme!

I hit a 102(adj 92), 101 (adj 94) and 95 (adj 92), with a SSS of 68, I worked it out to be around 25, but I know I can do so much better, just need to stop the 3 or 4 pen shots a round!

I'm happy with my all round ball striking, just need to hole putts in less than 3!

I think the bookies have closed their books on you already for Tuesday!! :D :D Looking forward to meeting you.

same, I'm really looking forward to it, especially seeing how alot of low handicappers play, how they setup and approach their shots and manage the course etc.

see you tuesday!

A short course should suit me. Despite hitting a 75 last Saturday, I seem to have lost the ability to hit anything between a 4w and an 8i. Driver wedge will suit me fine. Heck, if I'm carrying, I can leave the long irons in the car.

Although the course is about the same length as my place, they have 9 par 4's under 400 yards off the yellows - we only have 3! And nothing over 500 yards.
Still, looking forward to it! Should be interesting.

I'm sure it'll still be fun.

Thanks to Jezz for trying to get the tees put back.

This is one of the things that does annoy me in the UK. When I play in Florida, they have about 6 different tees, and I can choose where I play from. When I play in the UK, it's the old 'Visitor? you have to play off the yellows' rubbish.

Customer service, what's that?

Agreed.
You would have thought with the exposure the Marriots are getting from it, they'd be a bit flexible on the tee's used.
Still more than enough yardage to completely screw it up though.......

This thread has made me investigate the yardage at St. Pierre for the day there in August.

Whites - 6741
Yellows - 5986

!

Best get practising my short game then. ;)

so have you managed not to hit it out the end of the fairway on 16 yet?

(I'm just down the road at Wyboston)

Bad timing on a handicap cut!!! Came back down from 8 to 7 this week....methinks that 1 point might have made all the difference.....
