Morning all,

any advice on best way to help/speed up recovery of pulled/tweaked hamstring. It has not gone completely like last time, but is very tender to touch and hurts when I move.

Cheers

Assuming all done in the line of duty? Rest, ice and some ibuprofren. Nothing much you can do I'm afraid and you're not getting any younger ;)

Ice is good for the initial (acute) stage - the first couple of days.

But may not be the best for later stages - and rehab.

Same applies to Rest as well.

Proper strapping/protection is important during rehab! And may even be helpful to prevent it in the first place.

top private doctor, flight to Switzerland on a private jet with sexy nurse, intensive therapy in an oxygen tent, works for prem footballers, other than that,as above.

Ice - but not for more than 20mins and not directly on skin. Then warmth, again for 20mins not too hot to avoid scalding as often as you can. Helps promote blood flow and speed healing - if you played in the premier league you'd also get oxygen etc.

Gentle massage and gentle stretching to keep muscle as flexible as poss. try not to exercise a cold muscle.

Pain killers if you really need them.

Ice in the early stages, ibuprofen gel, tubi grip and as much rest as u can. I tore mine 2 months ago in the dad's race at my daughters sports day! Lol but it was agony, still tight now but was able to hobble round the course with an easy swing after 2 weeks...
