Have been working on some swing changes with my Pro, and to say they are not grooved yet would be an understatement! Seem to be getting a sweet strike at the range, but suspect I am overthinking when on the course instead of just going with what i've got on the day.
Played Woodhall Spa Open at the weekend and was embarrassingly poor!
.....what with that and just missing buffer in a medal it's been an unhappy start to the season and 3 x .1's back.

I played yesterday in a 4 BBB bounce game and shot sub par (net). They definitely are easy to hit and the bad shots are better than with the AP 2's I played with 3 players at the same handicap level as me and was not far off their driver length with my 4 iron, if I wasn't hitting my driver so well I'd use it more off the tee

Sounds like the new bats are doing the job for you, just hopefully not too good (at least until after H4H)!
Had our first Medal yesterday morning. Had been up all night with 2 poorly kids and hadnt played for a couple of weeks so turned up on the tee with no expectations of a good round what so ever. End up playing very steady for a gross 75 (par 71) which hopefully should see me cut by a full shot. Although give it another 10 comps and I will no doubt be back to where I started, lol
Haven't played a comp yet this year
Bad right arm needs to heal fast or I'll have some catching up to do :angry:

Just give my update but have winter league so will no doubt be adjusted when we start in a week or two........Unless I win the winter league final as they have been known to do the handicaps after a couple of jars and if I win it can be painful and an evening in front of the committee is usual.
Always good for the banter though!

Just realised now a medal winner on posts hey hey its an Omen for the final on Saturday !!!!!
I live in hope, not saying it is an hard school but 43 pts a few weeks ago 2 blobs and a 1 pt, 24 pts back, beat on card playoff as blobbed on back nine finished third beat on back six count back.
Still bring on the final.

Can a mod please delete this post and all related ones as yesterday's comp has just been declared a non qualifier meaning no cuts can be made!

How can they adjust handicaps after winter comps which are presumably off a shorter course? Sounds a bit iffy to me.

You can't declare a competition a non-qualifier after it has been played
I meant that I had only just been told that it was a non qualifier. My English isn't my strong point!
