my friend who i played junior golf with and went to school with was trying to get her tour card and missed making the 2nd stage @ Q school by 1 shot:(

i feel gutted for her because she played shabby golf to say the least so to miss out by 1 shot is a hard pill to swallow.she started off with a 81 and did well to claw back with 3 decent rounds and her final round of 71 had her in with a shout......she was top 51 at the start of the day and finished 1 behind the top 35 and tied.

she'll need to take all the positives from it and try again next year.....i really hope she does it!!!

Q school is tough, when you think one lip out can be the difference between playing for big purses or having to wait for the chance again next year.

You'll know that better than anyone Jason. I can only imagine what the pressure you and Wull's pal put yourself through.

Can I ask you Jason, after this years experiences will you put yourself through that again and do you believe you have the talent to make it onto Tour? Please don't take that the wrong way. I'm just curious about what positives you can or have taken from your run to Tour qualifying?

Hoefully both your friend and Mr Dransfield himself will be able to learn from it and come back next year better prepared for the challenge and go that one step further onto the main tour, fame and glory. Just don't forget to thank the forum when you win your first tour event

out of interest what scores qualify on the ladies Q school

not sure,+12 would of made the 2nd stage and i think the leader was -11 in group b.group a was very similar, the leader was -8 or so but the top 35 were @ about +11.

heather started with a +9 81 and then managed a +2 74 with i think 6 birdies and a eagle...what happened there i do not know.i think at this point she was really pee'd off with herself, she was probably looking at the other scores and realised that if she hadn't messed up rnd 1 she would of been in a much better position.

her 3rd rnd was a +3 75 and then she finished up with a -1 71 for a +13 total.

Reading Jason's website I'd say he very much believes he has the talent and more so desire to succeed... He'll manage it, I don't doubt he'll play on tour.

i'm interested to know aswell because like i've said in the goals thread this is where i'd like to go.it depends on how my golf game progresses over the next few years but i'd like to get down to scratch and give it a go...just to say i've tried at the very least.when i was a junior my golf game was better than heathers and at the time it did seem like i was going places but the rest is history as they say.she stuck at it and i didn't and look where she is now.

i hope she manages it next year,i think she will.

Craw, I will go again if required and yes I do think I can make it onto the tour. I am always working hard to improve my game and feel this year will be a very good one. I won 10 times last year albeit in 1 round events and I need to take that into 2,3 and 4 round tournaments this year.

Tough for Heather and have to say much as I love this game madly I'm not sure I could ever handle the pressure of playing it under such condtions. Very much admire those trying to make it and hopefully Heather will use this experience and learn from it and make it next year.
