Just found out the date for surgery to repair my damaged pancreas is August 18th and that I'm going to have to miss the Belfry trip. As I've been waiting over a year for the date and given the improvements it will make I can't afford to try and move it.

Pretty hacked off right now

Tough break Homer
But if it improves the quality of your life then missing a golf trip is small change in the great scheme of things.

Good luck with it - and I hope they use a sharp scalpel!!

Just think Homer, you can use your free Sharpie for the crossword whilst in hospital!!!

I would imagine its of very little comfort to him right now!! lol

Unlucky Homer, I missed out on a trip to Portugal last year becuase I put my back out at the range the day before we were due to fly :(

Horrible feeling!

I also missed a trip to Forest of Arden 2 years ago becuase i got the snip the day before we were due to go, and I didnt realise the dates were next to each other until a couple of days before!

Nah...more uncomfortable than anything else and a bit sore for a few days afterwards.

Its worth it though for bareback for the rest of my life and not worrying about the missus popping out anymore bin lids :D :D :D

Too much information!! :o

Homer - I hope you make a swift recovery after your op, I'm sure you'll be back on the course quickly.

Parmo - My Mrs keeps offering to cut my knackers off, shall I ask her if she'll do yours ?

Think I might have to get the snip :( do you have to stay overnight or is it an in and out job? Do you get knocked out or is it local?

Do you really want to play a round with only practice balls in your bag? :o

If so.. It's not even as bad as going to the dentist....No drills.

Local anaesthetic, 15 mins of the weirdest chat with a doctor you'll ever have , drive home, couple of days rest. Job done.

Homer - best of luck with the op.

Not sure of the full extent yet - still got to have my pre-op assessment where I find out the full story. I'm hoping its going to be keyhole and non-invasive but talking to a guy at the hospital from one of our Gastro wards he seems to think it'll be the full slice and dice.

If it is keyhole I reckon 3-4 weeks out max but maybe 6 if they open me up.
