Played my final tonight, weather was awful, but was the same for both sets of players! lol
Played against a +1 h'cap and his dad who is off 16, the junior has recently won the GUI irish boys championship.
Was a very good match, had chances on 5 and 6 to take a lead, but ended up going one down on 6, and were 2 down by the turn, managed a great half on 9.
We had a great back 9, and managed to get back to sq by 14, had putt on 15 for a half that lipped and on 16 for a win that missed right by about an inch from 15 feet.
Half on 17, we had a 20 footer for birdie on 18, they had maybe 10 feet, dave hit a super lookining put, but it kept going and left me 5 feet, they left theirs short, but was given, I holed, and onto playoff...
Great drive by them and dave left me 225 from the green, i had hit a 3 wood for safety, it had went safely into the cabbage! couldnt decide weather to go for it, or lay up as it was a shot hole, so we decided i should play a 5 iron, left dave around 50-60 yards, but he fatted it short, then i messed up my chip, they were into 3 feet and had a put for a 4 we made a 7, yes a 7! GUTTED! 2 finals in 2 years and messed both up!
