Greenpeace Climbing the Shard...NOW!

That's where I cede my authority to the (overall) Justice System.

There are plenty of instances where supposed unjust laws are deliberately breached to get a judgement.

Maya Evans was a simple 'arrest' though certainly an 'interesting' one! Again, the judiciary and the Justice Sysrathetem is normally pretty good at achieving justice imo, if somewhat slow (measured would be the positive spin)!

I think we would agree on quite a few things, but would possibly disagree on the trust placed in the Justice System and the best way to change unjust legislation. Whilst I would not generally condone lawbreaking, I do believe that is is sometimes necessary. The period of social change in 50's - 70's America would be a good indicator of this.

Couldn't. Care. Less.

If some hippy wants to risk their life, climbing a building, to bring an issue to people attention, that people quite simply, aren't that passionate about, then more fool them.

People today are fickle. We live in a world addicted to petroleium, that is a fact. People are more concerned about how much they pay at the pump per litre rather than where the hydrocarbons in their fuel tanks came from.

When was the last time you heard any one at a fuel pump say "I'm not filling up here as the oil used in its production came from (As an example) Suadi Arabia!"

All people are about when it comes to oil is the price per barrel and price per litre.

Well the Justice System should never need to get involved with 'bad' or 'unjust' laws in the first place imo. That's where the 2 House system (and I happen to think the Westminster one is the best) should be able to trap and correct the bad parts! I don't have figures, but I believe many of the 'unjust' laws that have had to be repealed/hacked are the ones that have been bounced nt the Parliament Act used to get them through!

So to extrapolate your point; any group who feel a particular law is not in their best interests or unfair to them would be morally correct to use civil unrest as a tool to change it. Do you not think this would be a road to anarchy and anti-democratic, or is it only fair if it is subject to approval by Guardian editorials and the SWP?
