First up thanks to Simon - a thoroughly nice bloke and unbelievably knowledgeable.
Went to the Welsh centre and had a really enjoyable time. Initial interview to ascertain what was what with my game, what was i using currently and shafts etc and finally what did I want? After explaining my problem of a high hook bad shot and my desire to lower the ball flight we went to the bay set aside for the mizuno staff. Had a go on the DNA club and returned very consistent figures at 86, 87 and 88 mph SS with the rest being 5 (tempo),2 (toe down),6 (kick angle),4 (release)the same for all 3 swings. The computer churned out 3 shafts at DGS300, Proj X 5.5 and KBS tour S. Hit the MP59 in each and viewed the stats. KBS felt the best but delivered unreliable distance (170 - 194, there was a slight tailwind). The S300 having lost accuracy and distance left the Proj X which produced staggeringly better results. My dispersion had dropped to 1.7 yds!! Had a go with the 63's next and was surprised to find they felt no better than the 59's (looked better though) - cue dispersion of 11yds and back in the rack. Proceeded to hit my own Ping i10's. Distance nearly all the same (ping sample) but dispersion of 13yds. This was explained to me that the Reg AWT shaft was a little weak for me producing the left shot that spoiled the dispersion (to the extent they were in a little group but all about 13yds left). Tried a fli hi for a 3 iron - loads better than a hybrid for me!
A thouroughly good day out but leaves me with the conundrum of are my current irons ok if I aim right or am I better with the clubs that are near enough straight (slight draw)?
Input appreciated. :D

buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy buy... Think of the economy man.. those clubs might just kick start the whole world economic recovery...

You know that you will be constantly thinking about those irons until you finally take the plunge !!!!

Did they take you through to the shop at Clays for them to give you the sales pitch ???

Junior - no sales pitch in the shop as Simon knows my pro and figured it would go through him! I am undecided as I am trying to remember if I even tried to hit my pings over the target or absent mindedly hit them straight up the range! I think it is a slight issue that the trackman is set up so you have to hit it at a slight angle away from the straight lines of the bays mats, seems unatural to me. May have to go to my pro with this info and see if it can be repeated (he's got trackman as well).
I am not blindly going to purchase new clubs - may even think about re-shafting mine with the 5.5s. I can't put my finger on it but they didn't feel that much better than my pings.
