afaik Graphite torque ratings are around 3.5-5.5 and steel is around 0.8, this might be for woods and possibly differs for irons, would be useful to know more if you have the info to hand?
My concern would be hitting irons is different from woods ie off the tee or a sweeping motion where irons as usual your hitting the ground more often taking divots and are they as strong as steel ?

I would say stronger.
After trying to get out of a rain sodden bunker at Woodhall Spa for the 3rd time on Sunday I threw my 7 iron towards my trolley in disgust. It was quite a hard throw too!
It bounced off and remained unmarked. I have no doubt that a steel shaft would have bent.
So there you have it. Proof if proof were needed.

So there u go.......
Highly Recommended for all angry Club Chuckers of the world
I guess you get a stiff end and a whippy tip or something like that.
Bollox DV
3.5-5.5 Graphite -- would be CRAP, there be some out there, but not decent quality
0.8 Steel.......PLEASE tell me which Steel shafts these are.........??
Oh Dear
Thanks for discussing it in a nice manner though![]()
I think Wilson do Half and Half shafts, one half steel one graphite (not sure which end is steel). Quite why anyone would need that I have no idea.
