If its a straight choice between hitting a good shot or taking a lucky score and running to the next hole, then I, for one, could do with the exercise!!!!

I'm unlikely to be playing any medal rounds in the foreseeable future so it's all about ball striking for me at the moment.

Take this evening. Another inpromptu 9 holes. Hit the ball well. Two holes in particular stand out. I got to within 2 paces of the green in 2 on both of them. The first I took 3 to get down , the second, ( a par 5 ) took me 4 more shots  .

But on the tricky par 3 over water, I managed a birdie.

Great fun, although I need to work on my putting and chipping.

Hmmmmmmm.

If you strike the ball well you should be enjoying a reasonable score anyway, sometimes its just down to the bounce or the run, both of which can be very unlucky sometimes.

If I am striking everything well then I am very happy as in such cases its never a poor scoring round but can often be a great score.

If its a comp, then I am happy too, but even happier if I get lucky a few times from duffed shots and get a great score. ;)

Sounds right too me!
