good news

Congratulations, that is great news! I have played East Sussex National many times and it is a fair and interesting challenge. There are two courses, the East and West, both have some great holes - although i prefer the West which is classed as the 'members' 18. They staged the European Open in the early 90's so it has a bit of history as well.

One piece of advice is make sure your driver is on song - from the back sticks there are some pretty long holes, albeit the fairways are generous.

The whole complex is massive with a huge hotel attached so you will be well looked after i am sure.

Any more info you need give me a shout - think i might also have a spare strokesaver lying about if that would help?

Congratulations, well done. I've played East Sussex National just the once and as Snaphookwedge says, it is long, but nice and open from what I remember.

Congratulations Ian. Hope you play well.
East Sussex National is local to me, and I have played it loads of times.
Two courses, East and West, East is where most of the tournaments are played, West used to be called the "members" course, but is open for general play now.
I personally prefer the East Course as I generally play it better! West course is nice but has a very difficult run of holes (Amen corner if you like) from about 12 to 14. The 12th is a tough par 5, with a long carry over a ton of crap and a daunting 2nd shot to avoid water all down the right and some tricky bunkering. The 14th is an evil par 4 as well. Again, a tricky driving hole where you have to be really long and straight to stand any chance whatsoever of getting up in two!
The East course has some lovely holes on it and I've played it many times. If you need any info just give me a shout.
